Salute the US veterans

I normally stay well clear of politics as this is a football forum but on this occasion I hope you will allow me. Does Tennessee Vols have any initiative like the NFL one that "Salutes the American Veterans" as no doubt the state will provide many military.

The truth is when it comes to Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria etc its usually the Americans who seem to be left with the "heavy lifting" and whilst it benefits fellow Americans, we from other countries also benefit hugely and it would be nice to register our appreciation as well. What ever your opinions are and far from me to lecture you, I do believe you should be very proud of your Military.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion but as a Vietnam era veteran, I’m thankful the citizens of our great nation acknowledge our service. It ain’t military worship. It’s gratitude.

You beat me to it. Military honoring and patriotism are NOT a political issue. It only takes losing something we value so dear for us to realize what we have.

NFL teams will send care packages to deployed service members if the member requests it. I'm not sure if college teams do it but it's pretty cool for fans of pro teams.

I have a season ticket at Wembley for the NFL matches and the American Anthem is always perfectly respected and a number of English fans will sign along with it.

Well, I would not fault them if they didn't, but our two countries have been through a lot together, fighting side by side.

Your anthem is ALWAYS well received by the Brits. We have always felt closest to you lot, there a clue in the word Allies. Sorry about some "misunderstanding" 200 years ago.

I am certain that we are all done fighting with each other. Am sorry also, that we had to go through that. My ancestry derives almost entirely from your country. The few Brits I know are the best sort of people, enjoyable and reliable with quiet dignity and a fine sense for making things go well. However messed up things might be, an affinity between UK and the US will always exist, I think for most of us. We even appreciate your Queen, whom I think is a fine person, regardless of my views about royalty.
