Sam Craft
5'11" 165lbs
#36 PG

Strengths:
Craft has leadership qualities galore, he can run the show, is unselfish to a fault, he defends the other teams best playmaker and can score if needed. He has a nice pull up game and can knock down a three if called upon. Physically strong and stout despite his 5'11 frame.

Weaknesses:
Craft could improve his game off the dribble and penetrating into the middle of the lane. He is adept at running a team and providing leadership but adding more scoring opportunities to his arsenal could benefit him in the long run.

Bottom Line:
Craft is simply put a winner! Led his high school squad to the Class AAA state championship and runs the show for the Memphis YOMCA, one of the best summer squads on the circuit. Craft is a winner and a player who produces championships.

another kid out of memphis who is getting a lot of love his junior season and starting to get some looks. another prospect very capable of going from a 3* to a 4* very quickly on the aau circuit. tennessee, as well as many other schools are in on him, but have yet to offer.

A little short and needs some work, but could turn out to be a sneaky kinda recruit. I have a feeling he might be really good.

Ervin walker and Peyton siva disagree with you saying he's short. 5'11" is plenty big for a college PG, keep in mind also he's only 16/17 so very capable of being 6' when he steps foot on a campus.

Your from out that way right? I'm on my phone do it doesn't show location...

I know king, hubbs, jw3 and Nichols are the big 4 out of Memphis but from what I'm gathering markel Crawford, jajaun Johnson, and Sam craft and even potentially Sam Edwards could make some big time noise. Is that accurate?

Mainly I've heard crawford and Johnson as being 2 guys that with good summers could climb right up there as 4* and e in the talk with the big 4.

What's your take?

I'm not saying he's to short to even have a chance. Im 5'7 myself and I could probably play college if focused on basketball and not other sports + academics. I think short players can be just as good as any.

So then what was the meaning of saying he's a little short? I must have missed it...

You can be short, but gotta be able to score.

I disagree. If you're a short PG id expect you to be a good ball handler and passer and an average scorer with a good outside shot, from all indications he is just that.

Erving walker is a good example, the capability to score is there but is more of a 12 ppg 5ast type of guy, very quick and good pesky defender. That's what I'd picture this guy being and want him to be, jmo though.

From the read on him, I am pretty impressed! When the guy's weakness includes, one or two very coachable attributes, I'd say that's pretty good. He sounds exactly like the type of PG that CCM wants to run his show. I think he should be a big target for us. We need this guy, even if he doesn't earn a starting spot, sounds like a guy that you want on your team because he will keep competition fighting for a starting spot and be a team first guy under CCM

I just said able. I didnt mean 20 ppg or anything. Without the three erving wouldnt be on the floor for me offensively. I'd rather put a 6'4 guy with decent interior skills and to help with rebounds on both sides.

It's just an opinion.

And craft isn't "able" to score?

That was my point, the guy can score and he averages a decent amount in HS. He just isn't an elite scorer, like a Teague or Chris jones at the point, but he is more than capable of scoring. That's why when you said he's gotta be "able" to score I was a bit thrown off.

Wow, you have summed up the entire UK fanbase. Your name is BigPapaCat, but your 5'7 and you still attend P.E. classes. Thanks for the laugh!
