We were drag racing our Chrysler 300 against Oregon's Porsche.
Surprise the Porsche won !!

Give Butch some time to rebuild the Volmobile.

Oregon exposed our main weaknesses. Now the Coaches know what to do to fix them. It's not going to be an overnight fix, there will be tweaks and breakdowns along the way. We'll make the finish line and be a better team than now. The key now is how will the players respond next week. They should be ready to open up a can of whoop azz on the Gators.

It's going to be a long season..

This should have been obvious long before the Oregon game. Schedule is tougher than last season and we lost almost all of our playmakers off the offense from last season. Sal and his 3-4 were horrid, but were not the only problems we had on defense. Lack of speed and depth were also major factors.

But yesterday shouldn't be a real indicator of how the rest of the season is going to play out. There was zero chance of yesterday's game being competitive. Team 117 needs to get themselves ready for the SEC now and put yesterday behind them. It's now Florida week, and Florida's offense is not Oregon's offense.

Just look inside our recruiting at specific areas of the team for past several years... DE and CB. RB have been full of issues and departures... Sutton has a bright future, but should not be starting, but there is not only option...

we don't have that nice of a car. We have more like 2007 Ford Focus.

Ha Ha... I was trying to be as nice and positive as posssible. I originally typed Ford Taurus but changed to the Chrysler before posting...

It was an ugly game. I think the coaches knew we didn't match up well with Oregon. Gonna take a couple of years to build the type of quality depth needed to compete at a high level.

You know Johnny Majors said several weeks ago that if we went 6-6 that Butch should be named SEC Coach of the Year. Evidently, Johnny knows how dire the situation is over on campus.

CBJ, " you have to be married to the process."

You can interpret that the way you want to, but I take it as dont look at the immediate result, look into the future, see where your headed, and make changes accordingly. It is a process. The team has to believe in the staff, the staff needs time to develop players, and recruit players that fit into the process. It will get better. Maybe not this year, but it will.

CBJ didn't buy the car - Dooley left it on the side of the road with flat tires and a steaming radiator. We have a good mechanic-just need quality parts. It took fatboy, kiffer, and Barbra's boy 7 years to ruin the program. It may take 4 to rebuild.

GO BIG ORANGE!!!!!

I was thinking more along the lines of bringing a donkey to a horse race, but yours works as well.

If you predicted anything better than 5-7 or at best 6-6, then yes, it's going to be a long season. For the rest of us, it's going about how we thought it would.

This.

The main ones I see whining today are the same ones who predicted all week we were going to upset Oregon, even said we had a good chance to do so, and laughed (or yelled) at anyone who disagreed.
