Why all the suprise with the close game?

Come on guys, this is nothing new. Tennessee almost ALWAYS plays to the level of their competition. We all know this. Why always the shock? It makes it at the same time, hard and exciting to be a Vol fan.

I LOVE IT!!!!!

Who wants a blow out every week, that's no fun to watch. Granted my heart could benefit from a solid win every now and then, but that's UT football ladies and gentlemen. Take it, leave it, get used to it.

I for one would not change a thing.

 ....... Well, maybe a couple things.

I'll take the blowouts as well.I yelled my ass off last night at this team.I was sure the neighbors were going to call the police on me.

We won the NC in 98 without doing so.

We could have been there again had we not lost to LSU in Atlanta a few years ago
and we did not blow anyone out that year.

So I will have to disagree.

Back from the land of Reb...

I think we all knew that UT would have a letdown after a big win over GA. After they put up 14 points like it was nothing, they simply sat back and watched the game. Not until the Rebels scored did the coaches realize they had to play to win. Ainge looked great, but he seemed more motivated after he was replaced by Schaeffer. A win is a win, and we have a HUGE one this week. Don't expect any letdown by Fulmer and company as the hated Tide roll into town for their annual beating.

Even Ainge? I remember he didn't even pay too much attention to ball out east, I always used to see him roaming around Reser Stadium at Oregon State games. Suppose he's going to have the same fire against Bama the rest of the team will?

Ainge will be fine. Trust me Milo - it doesn't take more than about 10 minutes once you cross the Mississippi River into Tennessee to start hating all things Alabama.

I'm sure the rest of the team has impressed upon him how important this game is, personally I consider it a winning season if our only win is against Bama!

I'll take the blowouts but all teams have the "let down" games.

Coach Fulmer wants to crush bama and the players will play that much harder for him. Don't think Burnett has forgotten media day already.

Bama hasn't impressed me, a few quality wins but overall :flush: .

I think a lot of it was Fulmer vs. Cutcliffe and the week after UGA and before Bama. First I think we got up early and instead of pinning our ears back and keep going for the throat, Phil let off because thats how he is and he wouldnt do that to his ole buddy Cut. You know Phils loyalty to his coaches hell if it was up to us Sanders would have been canned a while ago but look how thats paid off. Also folks a matchup against a top 3 team on the road and a rivalry that people looked forward to every year you gotta think that the game in between those 2 would be hard to play. To me after Sat. this will be one of the hardest 4 weeks we have had. You got a NC contender one week then a road game against a team that has beat you 4 straight years then a game against a former coach and good friend who knows your playbook and everything your gonna run and then BAMA .....I would say we will be looking forward to November cause October has been a helluva month.
