So why didn’t these 3 play tonight a single down tonight? Something tells me there is more going on behind the set than what we know.

Heupel excuse for D. Slaughter was he just wasn’t available! Got s bad feeling there is no leadership in the locker room and it’s causing real issues.

I see the player only meeting in a whole new light. This team has regressed so far from the Virginia game. I suspect there are problems behind the scenes. No idea what but a POM after Austin Peay, game 2?? We tried to spin it as leadership, and I wanted to believe that, but I've never heard of a POM after APSU level game this early in the season.

Florida had a field goal and an extra point blocked, so they brought in a ref as their kicker. Look, the reason we lost is simple. Darnell Wright, Carvin, and Cooper Mays weren't there. The new members of the OL couldn't handle the crowd noise. Florida will lose at least 2 more games in the SEC. Alabama and Georgia looked beatable today. This is a setback, but not the end of the world. We can still win the east. We've done it before after losing to Florida early.

I don't see us beating Kentucky , South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama and possibly even Vandy.

I can appreciate your optimism, but I’m afraid this team is a 7-5 type.

That is what is so frustrating about Florida the last few years. They find a way to beat us then they inexplicably drop games to Kentucky and Vandy. It's maddening.

Out for disciplinary reasons according to another thread. But don’t worry, there will be plenty of opportunities this week to read and/or listen to why they were out. I hope none of them fell on a helmet.
Whatever they did, CJH had to get the team ready and traveling. Game ain’t gonna be called off because of some idiot behavior.
Let’s hope they flush it and get re-focused and take it out on UTSA Saturday. Plenty to play for

Milton has no fire on the sidelines. Hooker sure did! You have to rally the troops. Not sit on the sideline and suck your thumb.
One of the problems is Milton thinks he is the best thing since sliced bread, and he doesn't believe he can do no harm. Truth is, he does not read defenses quickly or accurately and starts throwing the ball to receivers who are covered. I know, one must have confidence to succeed, but one must also have the ability to realize everyone can and needs to improve.
I think it may be time to apply IQ tests to all players and coaches. Might be interesting what those test might show.

It boggles my mind how they can practice all week and play that bad on Saturday. Do they not watch game film of our backs getting smoked, bad adjustments in games, poor execution play after play? During this game when Florida had the ball , if it was 3rd and short, everyone knew what was coming and we still couldn't stop them. At some point, take some pride in how you play. That first TD we gave up was embarrassing.

There were team/player issues last year the week of the SC beat down as well. Doesn't sound like CJH has a firm grip on this team.

TN's offense is practicing against our D. Remember that.

You may be on to something...administer something along the lines of a mini-Wonderlic test for incoming players. Sort of a PSAT:SAT::Mini-Wonder:Wonderlic sort of thing?

I like the optimism, and I'm confident that Heupel will hold our '24 class together and make a strong recovery down the road ... but we are in for a tough year. The offensive line is just one of our glaring weaknesses. I think we will probably finish 7-5; maybe even 6-6.

Our fan base would be smart to stay supportive of Heupel, and not give him and his family any doubts about Tennessee being the best place for them long term. He will get us back to playing the type of ball we did last year.

If the secondary learns that to tackle you need to wrap your arms around them instead of just bumping into them, we can win them all. Georgia is here, and Alabama has serious problems at QB. I sure hope the team doesn't react the way some here on Volnation have reacted.
THEY HAVE NO CLUE WHAT IT MEANS TO LOCK UP ON A RUNNER , RATHER THAN JUST BUMP HIM.
