Partly poor coaching, party because we started 1st 20 every drive. Backs only had 13 touches.

Hard to run the ball when you don’t have it

The step up in competition to face at top 25 team on the road was different from playing UK which was blown out by Bama today in Lexington and Connecticut which was wiped out by James Madison today. Stats and long runs don't come easy against top level opponents. There is no clutch comeback ability on this team - pick 6, hit your own qb and cause a fumble, etc. Bonehead playcalling after the great McCullough interception set the tone for a futile offensive effort. Contrast that with the tough football played by Mizzou and you have a demoralizing total beatdown. Sampson will get yards against Vandy but facing the top 2 teams in the East back to back has exposed the weaknesses of the entire squad.

Our staff gives up on the run game too early sometimes but this game it was more never getting positive yardage on first down

One thing that worried me about our rb's, is they don't wrap up the football with BOTH HANDS when about to get hit! Missouri's rb would wrap up the football with both hands. That fumble by Wright before halftime took the air out of us & fired up Missouri's entire team! Sampson should have got some more touches, but we needed to take more shots down the field deep! Those 1st & 20's killed us!

What part of Missouri controlling the game and keeping our defense that could not get off the field, on the field! We ran 3 *&^%ing plays in the 1st quarter.

When the entire world knows the opposing team’s defensive scheme is going to be stop the run and you don’t plan an offensive game plan to counter it, you’re going to have a problem.

Wasting the McCullough turnover at midfield was horrendous. Butch Jones liked complementary football. That means the offense takes advantage of a great play by the defense. Another one is the defense take advantage of super punts or the kicking game. Butch was right on some of his football insight.
