Samrdzia to be a Cub....

I'm not sure about the chances he has of making it beyond Iowa.
Why?? The Cubs front office seems to think he will be a "high end" starter. He has a 97 mph fastball. Plus if he wasnt sure about being a star, then why would he quit football. He definetly could have been a good NFL player. I think he will be fine.

My hopes: He does great in AA and maybe AAA then gets included in a trade that brings in a big weapon for the Cubs while he never pans out for the team he is traded to.

Because the money is better in baseball, and the contracts are more solid.

it usually works the other way around for the Cubs though.

i think we have a chance of seeing him here in Knoxville this year.

Yeah I know. He'll be chalked up as all that. We will give him a small chance here and there and end up trading him for junk and he'll blossom into an All-Star for a divisional rival.

now that he's pledged allegiance to the Cubs, he can wear his hair anyway he wants if you ask me.

He has a no trade clause with the Cubs.

He has not thrown more than 79 innings in a season and did not spend alot of time last summer in A ball. It will take him a awhile to work his arm up to alot more innings. I see him in Low A or rookie league again. You throw him in a A or AA right now, he would throw his arm out in one season.

At least 4 seasons to get him even close to making the majors.

Agreed, he will definitley need to warm up with some short season ball. I genuinely hope he steps up and becomes an assett for my Cubbies... We'll see how he does.

I dunno. Maybe not so much, Samardsiandkla{S'_AWDa is definitley a possession receiver while Meach is definitley more of an athlete.
