I lived in Monterey, CA and if you can't live there just based upon politics, you might want to get away from politics altogether.

Made an inflated blanket statement to drive home a point. I'm sure there are plenty of places in Cali where the politicians are not so extreme. Just pointing out most of the "major" cities there have extreme liberals in control making poor decisions. I just have a natural dislike of California.

California is the most majestic state (other than Alaska possibly). From San Diego to the North border there are some simply amazing places.

big difference between northern california and southern california. go to orange county and you can even hang with conservatives. or at least the california version of htem.

We had some in the Monterey area, but they all happened to be affiliated with Ft. Ord.
