Sc has always developed their qb's. Hell, if a guy named John David Booty can have success anyone can..

I was curious to see how Mustain would do out there

Going into the rose bowl corp was #2 and mustain was #3. Before that mustain was #2 and corp was #3. Before that some other kid was #2, corp was #3, and mustain was #4. Corp was a god in high school and we all know mustain is a bit of a head case so i'd expect corp to start.

Who is your QB going to be?

Probably Riley. Mansion and Sweeney both were big recruits and one might pass him. Rumor has it Tedford isn't a big fan of riley and loves mansion and sweeney.

corp and mustain were almost as highly rated as barkley. if barclays starts SC is in some serious trouble.

I think that's a bad thing for Carroll. Sanchez has a much better chance at success than Leinert and Carroll just hammered him. Didn't even bother to wait until the press conference was finished.

What was Carroll trying to accomplish?

this is probably the first major player that has gone against pete. he basically acted like a spoiled child who didn't get what he wanted. say he is right and sanchez isn't ready, you still don't say that in his friggin press conference.

I don't know what the long term effects will be, but it certainly can't be good for Carroll, who is universally seen as a player's coach. I just can't imagine why he did it that way. If he still lobbying to get Sanchez back, that was probably the absolute worst way to go about it.

Sanchez is also a talented cat. If he makes it work, it gets even worse.

an interesting perspective: SPORTSbyBROOKS Carroll’s ‘Pathetic’ Reaction To Sanchez Departure

If mark gets drafted high (which looks likely) it makes pete look bad. I don't buy this theory that somehow staying one extra year in college makes it more likely he will be a successful nfl qb.

It's odd that he'd react that way.

Let's say, for argument's sake, Sanchez isn't ready to be an NFL quarterback. Does it really matter? He's projected by most experts to be selected within the first 5 picks in the draft. It seems irresponsible and selfish to try to influence him to stay in school.

that blog post was dubious at the very best (Carroll coming off 2nd consecutive BCS national championship didn't happen), but the facts still stand.

Sanchez is going to be a high draft choice and the extra year wasn't going to change that. The extra year seemingly (I don't buy it) hurt Leinert and that had to weigh in the decision. Sanchez is also likely the most talented QB in the draft or immediately behind Stafford.

I don't think this helps, but I also struggle to believe that the problems stem from Carroll's assistant coaching hiring practices.

I saw on Yahoo a mock draft that had him going first overall to the Lions :dunno: about that.
