Randy Sanders makes his return to Neyland this Sat. It is really good to see the sucess he is having at Ky. It was for the best that he stepped down at TN but I always believed that he was a good coach and I wished nothing for the best for him.

I hope that UT fans dont give him a hard time Sat.He bleeds orange as much as any of us and we should wish nothing but goods things for him and his family.

For all but 3.5 hours on Saturday, I agree. :)

Seemed to be a win/win situation.

I hope we have changed how we signal in plays since he left. Hate for him to know everything we call before the play.

I betcha there have been a few changes made in his absence.

I credit Randy Sanders with a large amount of the improvement in André Woodson. He's become a huge asset for this team.

It IS kinda weird seeing him in Blue, though. I was about 5 feet from him yesterday as the team got off the bus before his game, and I'm still not used to seeing him wear blue.

I don't miss Sanders at all. He was a horrible play caller, and didn't understand Zone Coverage with defenses. I wish him the best, but he was horrible after they threw Cut's playbook our the window.

Randy seems to be a good position coach. He was just in over his head as OC. We should wish nothing but the best for him.

I think Sanders had his moments at UT. I mean in 2001 and 2004 he had great offenses and called some great games. The lack of detail and asst. coaches is what did him in.

All we've heard this year is how better prepared they are on offense then a year ago. It wasnt the plays, it was the playcalling and preperation.

Sanders was a big problem for us last year. I'm glad he is gone from UT and I hope we can hang 50 on the Cats this Sat.

I respectefully disagree - he was a horrible position coach. Look at the difference in Ainge under Sanders vs Cutcliffe.

I agree. Casey Clausen didn't improve much over the 4 years he was hear and Ainge got worse under Sanders' tutoring. Granted, there were more factors in his season last year than just his coaching, but, he was far worse than he was as a raw talent out of high school.

It is amazing how much of a difference coaching makes. I think the difference this year is that Cutcliffe has been around long enough to be able to understand talent and understand the minds of young players and he is calling the plays he knows Ainge is comfortable with and can execute. Sanders relied on what HE wanted to do, not what his players were necessarily capable of doing.

I agree with a couple above posters. He was a good position coach? Are you kidding? I think he play calling at times was decent. His responsibility of coaching QB fundamentals and getting QB's prepared was horrible. He concentrated too much on building a good relationship with them and was not hard enough on them. His demands on his QB were nowhere near what Cut's are and that is a big difference.
