Needing to pick up a digital satellite for a tailgate. Fortunately the game is on CBS, but I’m not sure what kind of satellite will do the best for me.

Any recommendations?

Being on CBS you could probably use a hi-def antenna and get 4K over the air. Some of these antennas have a range of about 75 miles. I personally use a Leaf brand one that I think I got at Best Buy years ago. Works like a champ. Picture quality is actually better than cable because most cable providers, looking at you Comcast/Xfinity, broadcast at a lower resolution. Hope the link below works.

Yeah it’s tough to sift through the options. Especially on Amazon—anything from there can be hit or miss.

Why would you ever use a satellite when you can just use YouTubeTv or Hulu+ and cast it to a TV? seems like a boomer thing to use a satellite imo TIFWIW 😁

Maybe because wifi or 4G signal is too weak at tailgate location?

YouTube TV allows signal anywhere but Hulu Live does not. HUGE difference, especially for tailgating.

Dang some people took my prod personally. 😂

No one took it personally. Just funny that you took the time to “answer” with what you thought was a jab but actually made yourself look like a dummy.

And now you’re trying to walk it back like it was just some troll. All good though. Next time just say “I don’t have an answer for you.”

Buy a few. Return what you don't need.
Sorry about your Mets.

Hulu will not run off a mobile hot spot device. I tried last weekend when sling dropped ESPN

I agree with the high-definition over-the-air antenna suggestion. You should be able to pick up CBS with no problem. I have satellite at my home 70 miles away but I also have an over-the-air antenna to get all of my local channels.

A buddy of mine has used this for years, it works great auto locates the satellite. View attachment 498766
I have Dish through my home satellite. If I got one of these, would I just add it to my Dish package without paying extra for linking up? Would go good in my RV, if so. I also have a fire stick when RV parks have wifi. My antenna on the RV works pretty good if I'm close to cities. Live 45 miles from Nashville and pick up 33 channels through that antenna ... Long as I'm stationary.

Yes , just use their current receiver and you are setup.
