Are you shocked? You ever hear of "the enemy of my enemy is my friend"

Al-qaeda, sunnis. The new Iraqi gov't, shiites...

I suggest you go back and read about the USSR invasion of Afghanistan and learn about how this sh** storm all started. Pakistan- Saudi - mujahideen - and us.

How does the Balkan conflict fit into the equation, oh one of such great knowledge??

I am totally surpised, how many wahibbi imans do you think the Saudis fund in America today?

Do I have to go back and watch Rambo III now?

Probably some old Carnak skits will suffice. :)

The Saudi ties to the Arab soldiers fighting alongside the Afghans against the USSR... yep. Before they morphed into al-queeda and the Taliban.

The Saudi's support that faction in Iraq as a proxy army against the Shiites in Iraq. The Saudis and Iranians loathe each other.

Hasn't that Shiite versus Sunni rift been going on for centuries though? As I understand it the Saudis are Sunni as well aren't they, at least the majority?

Saudis and most Arabian peninsula dwellers are Sunni. Iran is Shiite. Iraq is split.

The Shiites are a majority in Iraq, somewhere around 60% I think, the other 40% is Sunni. The Sunnis are also split between Kurds and Arabs, who aren't that lovey dovey either.

Think Zbigniew Brzezinski spelled backwards and you get the picture.

Don't be silly. Everyone knows Obama started this. :p

Well actually the shiite sh!t really started to hit the fan when Obama's mentor James Earl Carter betrayed and help overthrow the Shah.

Can you believe the Carter Center in Atlanta has a room dedicated to the Ayatollah Khomeini who executed more men in one year than the Shah had in forty??

It started with the death of Muhammed (murderous treacherous false prophet),(no image available so as not to offend muslims and pc liberals) fourteen hundred years ago, what came to be known as the shiites wanted a descendent of the 'prophet' to be the caliph, what came to be known as the sunnis wanted the caliph to be elected by various leaders of islam. (submission)

As in a banana repuplic split, right?

This is not a surprise. I'll give anyone two guess what nationality the majority of the 911 hijackers were.

The muslim world is completely screwed up right now. Even in "moderate" Egypt where they drink alcohol the average muslim has some pretty radical worldviews.

In Egypt today 96% of the women have had 'clitorectomies', very advanced thinking there.

Not to mention the horrible way they have been treating the Copts. (Christians.)

Clue: The muslim world has been screwed up from day one and isn't likely to improve any time soon especially when we appease, appease, appease.

The only times in it's whole history that the world of islam has improved is when it had strong opposition!!
