but the effort our boys played with was off the charts. I was at the game and the intensity level was through the roof and our guys played there a$$es off. Im very proud of this team, NO LACK OF HUSTLE 100% effort. Fellas that was a very good team we played to the wire. Sure we made mistakes, ITS EARLY. We have the same prob weve had in the pearl ball era. No point gaurd. I know the purdue D was good but we should have penetrated it with a good point man. It appears the gaurds we have dont see the floor. Our bigs were open underneath alot but no one sees them for some reason. Good Game VOLS.:good!:

No discipline, no offensive set. TN will have a good season but will not beat the good teams who know how to play. This basketball coaching staff and team are very frustrating to watch. Streetball dosen't win.

Pearl has won 20+ games in 16 of his 17 seasons as a head coach!!!!!! Calimari is the streetball coach! Never has UT been in the National spotlight and National discussions as they are now!!!!

Was a great game to watch, hustle from both sides all night. They were well coached thats for sure. Broke my heart to see Big Weezy miss the entire rim on the last shot.....I've been thinkin all morning to myself if he coulda at least bonked it off the rim we prolly coulda put up a quick jumper and get 2 attempts in. Wayne did do good down low though that was nice to see. When we did take it to the rim there was good results jus seemed we kinda went away from that in the 2nd half, partly from increased D from them and it seems our gameplan changed or something. Not sure why we went away from that when it was working. We couldn't hit a 3 to save our lives and it frustrated the crap out of me to see someone get a open look @ the 3 bout 10 times jus to pump fake drive then dish out and rinse and repeat over and over. We had about 12 at least open looks at the 3 that no one threw it up on jus pump faked and then they clamped down on us. ARGH! Besides that it was a good effort by both teams and a good game to watch because of the hustles. GO VOLS!

Absolutely outcoached here...we had them in foul trouble in the first half and when they lost their two post defenders, we start jacking up 10-12 footers. I just cannot believe Pearl didn't call a timeout with 8 seconds left after BMaze was just running around the arc with nobody open..This was just ridiculous! I don't blame the players bc they are supposed to play, COACHES COACH, well sometimes> Pearl was probably too mad at the refs or Painter to remember to call a timeout..This is why we will never be a top tier team.

No offense? I think they have set the all time point total record this season and have been over 100 50% of their games!! Baseless argument!!!!!!

Too bad we can't force 30+ turnovers against real competition. That's the only way we can get even close to 100 points in a game.

The poster that you quoted was 100% correct.

You are 100% wrong.

Well when you dont play anyone all year long and you get the #1 seed you dont play much competition until the final games in the tournament. But has he ever won any of those with all that talent he has had???

Everyone is going to complain about Pearls Techniques because for some people on here they believe that Basketball is about running set plays and not making plays...Basketball can be won with team work and hustle not just set plays...We missed a bunch of open shots last night and lost by 1...It happens but to think that Bruce got out coached just does not make sense. If we have a chance to win the game in the last seconds how did he get out coached??? Now if he got blown out and embarressed then I would say he got out coached....But his guys missing opportunities is not his fault...He called a good enough game to keep them in it the whole time what else do you want??

while I get what you're saying, not having a play to run at all with 15sec left in the game is a bit puzzling. He did take 2 to's to set it up

He had 3 timeouts with a minute left. He only used one of those correctly. With that much time you have to get some sort of point across.

I tell you that I want a 3 point shooter who we can depend on that 9 out of 10 when the game is in his hands he is going to strip it. Like Lofton

This is one of the most idiotic posts I've ever seen. If they "didn't play anyone all year" then logic would be that they would quickly be exposed in the NCAAT, but all they did was make it to within seconds of winning it all. Plus I guess he's had the scenairo of "didn't play anyone" more than once.

Calapari throws gets it to Wall one on one and says DO HIM!!!! And that's Kentuckys offense UT will get better as the year goes on, you have to get better every month and this team will.

100% hussle and playing your ass off + 100% EXECUTION = CHAMPIONSHIPS

100% hussle and playing your ass off = pretty good season.

Too many people don't understand this. I'm sure I would hustle too, but that doesn't mean I can play SEC basketball.
