"The Southern Baptist Convention is at war with itself - Vox" https://www-vox-com.cdn.ampproject....tion-ed-litton-sex-abuse-critical-race-theory

After courts ruled that Bob Jones University (then College) could no longer continue its "Whites only" enrollment policy in the late 1970s, a push began to replace moderate Southern Baptist leadership who believed the extent of political participation should be prayer and voting with hardliners who would go for direct intervention in policy decisions.

A generation later, the SBC is at another inflection point. Moderates seek to return to the days where the church was involved in directly improving the lives of communities through mission and outreach, while hardliners want to continue the push towards enforcing their beliefs through policy and law.

The church should always focus. FIRST AND FORMOST on changing the world one soul at a time. As such, politics can easily become a distraction, an attempt to save the world the “quick way”. But a point is reached when the other side is pushing such immorality, oppression, and perversion that the church can no longer remain silent without surrendering the hard fought freedom bequeathed by earlier generations. We have reached that point. I am reading a book currently on how the Nazis took and consolidated power in the 1930s. I am struck by how the churches acquiesced quietly to abominations because they didn’t want to get involved in politics. When they finally woke up, it was too late. Make no mistake, today’s left would round us up and put us in “reeducation camps” in a heartbeat if they could. Disarmament is the only roadblock standing in their way

Quite true. CRT cancer is slowly infiltrated Baptist churches, as is other liberal, anti-Christian ideas.
