ESPN or ESPN2 Will Televise The Game Nationally

Oct. 17, 2005

Tennessee's football game versus South Carolina on Saturday, October 29, will be televised nationally by either ESPN or ESPN2, it was announced today by the Southeastern Conference office. Game time is set for 7:45 p.m. ET at Neyland Stadium.

The decision on ESPN or ESPN2 will be made no later than Monday, October 24 following games of October 22. Time will not change regardless of network.

Tennessee owns a 19-2-2 advantage in the all-time series, including a perfect 12-0 mark in Knoxville. The Volunteers have won the last 12 meetings between the two schools, with USC's last win coming in Columbia on Oct. 31, 1992 by a 24-23 score. The last time the teams met in Knoxville, the game went into overtime, with UT pulling out a 23-20 win.

Jefferson-Pilot Sports will kickoff the day's SEC coverage with the Ole Miss at Auburn game at 11:30 a.m. CT. CBS Sports will follow with the Florida vs. Georgia game from Jacksonville at 3:30 p.m. ET.

After the GA/FLA game, it's a pretty weak schedule for SEC teams that week. Plus, the "Spurrier returns to Knoxville" angle is right up ESPN's alley.

They just knew they were going to beat us last season, and put themselves into the drivers seat in the East too.......before they were streaming out of their stadium in the third quarter.
