So Im headed to the AU game and it will be the first time that I get some tickets via scalping. I am looking for advice as to where and when to do this. Also, is faking tickets a legitimate concern or is that rare? Oh and what I should bargain the price to be? Thanks for the help

Me and my dad scalped for years with no problems. Walk the strip for 20 minutes and you should be able to find some with ease. If you have an odd number of tickets your trying to buy you're most likely going to have to buy more. I recommend going to one of the many websites to buy tickets bc scalpers can pretty much charge whatever they want.

I learned this last year at the Florida game when I payed $260 per ticket. So be wary.

The closer it gets to game time the more reluctant the scalpers are to sell their tickets to make something and in my past experiences (20X+) was when we got the better deals. And I've never personally bought fraud tickets

And tickets are $60 face value so I wouldn't expect to pay any less than $100 or $120 per ticket for seats that aren't so valued. Anyway GOOD LUCK!!! There's 100,000 + so your chances of getting a deal are decent. Hope this helps

I would find good seats buy them and enjoy the day. I have been with people that spend the whole day trying to save $10. If you want cheap wait until late and get some on the way to the stadium. You should be able to find tickets pretty easily. I just sold my pair for $90. I can't make it and am pretty bummed about it but they are going to Vol grads so they are in good hands.

You can typically find tickets an hour or closer to game time for less than face value. The closer it gets to game time, the cheaper the tickets. I can usually get them for $20-$40 with enough persistence

Don't buy from the actual scalpers, they are there simply to make money. Buy from another fan who has extras, they want to get the tickets sold and get to the game. Work your way from where the buses drop people off at the top of the hill down the street, just go back and forth. Ask people what they want for their tickets, offer what you're willing to pay. The game is sold out, so there will be tickets available. Have patience and don't be afraid to keep asking people.

Friend, best advice is to wait it out until kickoff. Scalpers do not want to eat the tickets and will sell them below face value so they don't lose all their money. Growing up, my brother and I did this at almost every game. Otherwise, the next best option is to buy them off of Craigslist. There are some good people on there that can't make it to the game and are not scalpers. They will ask for what they invest in them. Be aware of fake ads. Good Luck! Go Vols!

nothing like a lackadaisical performance and an azz whoopin the week before , to lower prices for this week . You should be in good shape , buying tickets within 30 minutes of kickoff

There are still tix on UTix so I don't think the prices will be as high as everyone thinks. I would buy two uppers off there. Then try to sell them or upgrade to better seats..... May take a little effort but not alot. If they are higher on street. You will have those to fall back on.

Go to the street beside the UC and look for older (60s) fans with extra tickets or anyone that doesn't have a handful of tickets. Those are generally the best deals. My son and I paid $90 for two seats on the 35 (row 57) for the SC game. We were very pleased.

I've been practicing this art since 1978. Usually get great seats and sit around nice people.

It all depends on what you want your gameday experience to be about. Do you plan on tailgating, bar hopping, or just walking around campus?

There will be tickets for sale. If it were me and I didn't have tickets I would tailgate or bar hop for a while. Walk to the stadium around 11:20. Keep my eyes peeled and pick some up on the cheap.

In a couple of years when the Vols start kicking ass, scalpers will make money hand over fist.

$100-$120???? USCjr tix were $75 face value and I paid $15. At Mizzou people were selling tix for $30 an hr before kickoff. I would not pay anywhere near $100 coming off a blowout and playing a top 10 team.

No offense but you're a horrible scalper if you paid $260 per ticket for the UF game this year. I've been to Gainesville 5+ times and never paid more than $60. Hell, I only paid $100 for the UGA-UF game in 2008 for a top 10 matchup.

I've only had season tickets for the last two years. In years past, I would scalp some tickets and it just depends on what you want in your game day experience. If you want to do pre-game in the stadium (band, running through the T, etc), look for the best possible seats. Don't be afraid to ask anyone what they have and what they want for them. I'd usually pin one against the other (since they all congregate together). If you're simply looking for a deal, mill around the stadium right before kick-off. Inevitably, someone will unload a set for less than face value.

Your best bet is to STAY AWAY from Cumberland Ave sclapers. I always just head right to the stadium and find a genuine suburbanite with an extra ticket....its guaranteed! Stand outside gate 21 or by the south endzone entrances and I promise you will find tix at half the cost....Id say a pair for $60 or 70!

The strip is a good place. Also Cumberland & Phillip Fulmer. Scalpers aren't allowed in front of the stadium so don't go there. I've never heard of fake tkts but it's probably happened. Good luck!

There's the voice of someone who has done this. Exactly. I paid $20 for tickets in Tuscaloosa one year and missed only one play, the opening kick.

UT vs Bama in basketball, me and a friend bought tickets, walked around and sold them for a profit, and bought tickets again with the profit.

Never pay face value. Wait it out.
