That's weird, it didn't make me register. :dunno:

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - Tennessee quarterback Brent Schaeffer is still recovering from a broken collarbone and will not travel with the No. 15 Volunteers to the Southeastern Conference championship.

Schaeffer, who had co-started with fellow freshman Erik Ainge this season, was hurt Oct. 30 at South Carolina.

The Vols had hoped Schaeffer would be cleared by doctors to play if needed.

"He's not 100 percent. He hadn't practiced in a month anyway, so I don't know how much of a factor he would have been at all," coach Phillip Fulmer said Thursday.

Ainge separated his shoulder the week after Schaeffer was injured and is not able to play.

Junior Rick Clausen has started the last two games and will start again Saturday against Auburn in Atlanta.

Crap. I guess Rick is just going to have to continue to get it done.

PLEASE let this be false... I know Schaeffer would not be much help, but our offensive shift in the beginning could be just the thing we'd need to keep Auburn from jumping ahead early.

Regardless of who the QB is, if our D plays the way it has the past 2 games then it won't matter who is playing QB for us.

Well, I guess that we are going to see what Rick is made of. Obviously we can't have one of those INT's for a TD! This is a huge chance for Rick to step up and make smart plays. The team is going to have to rally around him and pick him up.

I've heard that too. It's all conjecture at this point, but the pieces sort of fit together; sort of like one of those Quincy Carter "injuries". You'd think that if Schaeffer could put on pads, he'd at least get to travel with the team.

What 'D'?

He's talking about or occassional reliance on the defense to keep us in games throughout the season.

The 2 biggest reasons he is not going to Atlanta is his failure to attend QB meetings and to do his film study and that is also why he'll never beat out Ainge or Crompton.

Hmmm....something's fishy. I've got a feeling that a story will unfold sometime around Sunday or Monday (after any chance of distraction from the game).

Was I dreaming, or was he on the sidelines during the Kentucky game?

Gotta figure he'd travel if he could.

I've also heard rumors that he has not gone to class since the Ole Miss game. Rumors are just, that, however...

That's the story that is going around. I've seen rumors about him not attending class, not showing up at meetings, the fight, etc. Who knows what's true?

I have this feeling if all these are true he will be heading back to florida! Maybe Florida A&M or Bethune Cookman so he can play immediatly(sp)....Because this is not sounding good! He may not have enough hours to qualify for the Bowl game if he is cleared to play!

I dunno... He shouldn't be doing all that stuff, but I'm not blaming him after his chance to rise as a great qb as a freshman was cut off in that SC game. I would be upset, too.
