Obviously the 18 game conference schedule which has been decided, we will play vandy twice not sure yet though on the other 4 SEC opponents that we will play twice next year. So 8 SEC teams 1 game each, 4 SEC teams twice, an Vandy twice, equaling 18 Anne schedule.

For the OOC...

HOME: Xavier, Wichita state, Memphis, Oakland, Kennessaw State, Western Carolina, 1 more low-mid major

AWAY: Georgetown, Virginia

NEUTRAL: 3 games in Puerto Rico

If we can come out with a tournament win in puerto Rico, the rest of the schedule sets up nicely, lots of home games. Need to re establish that home court advantage at TBA.

Hard to predict a win total without knowing the full SEC schedule though, should be out in August.

One thing I want to happen this year is for us to beat Oakland. They have been decent, but every time we play them we've had a chance to take over the game but could not capitalize.

There was also talk about a Big 10 team being on the schedule this year. Either Michigan, MSU, or Indiana.

Quality schedule and thank God we won't see Oakland on our schedule next year. Talk about a thorn in our sides!

I love the home games with Western Carolina, Wichita St, and Xavier. Also, can't wait to see us play in D.C.!

Sorry. I ment after this season. I worded it wrong ;)

And if you tell me that they are on there again, I'll die lol. I thought last year was the last time we'd see them and forgot about the 2 and 1 series.

To be completely honest, none of the home games save for Memphis are really that good. Wichita lost their entire starting five, Xavier lost four seniors including Tu Holloway, and none of the others will probably make the NCAAs. There's potential of going undefeated at home with that schedule. Georgetown is a great road game and I'm simply elated to not be playing the same BE team three years in a row. Virginia's a solid team with a solid coach as well.

The puerto Rico field is pretty good, a matchup wih nc state would be a big one.

Depending on what 4 SEC teams we play twice, we could easily win in the range of 21-22 regular season games, maybe more depending on the SEC draw.

A 22-8/23-7 record going into the sec tourney would be nice.

Agree but traditionally, these teams are pretty nice and I don't mind grabbing a W from a couple of solid programs in a down year. I do think Xavier will be much better than advertized but not a normal Xavier team.

Presbyterian is the final OOC game, obviously it will be a home game. First time since '88 no in state mid major is on the schedule. Quinn has an article in govolsxtra talking about the high payouts being the main reason.

That only comes out to 30 games. Doesn't a normal schedule have 31? Also, do we know when dates and times come out? I'm an NHL season ticket holder, and as soon as they release the schedule in July I get antsy for the UT hoops schedule so I can see how many conflicts there are and which weekends I can get back to Knoxville

Varies by school some have 30, some have 32 and I think Ive seem some with 34. I guess this years will just have 30.

Full schedule with sec opponents and times in probably late August iirc

Xavier released their OOC schedule and it has them playing at Tennessee on December 29th. Would be a shame for one of the bigger OOC home games to be when students are on break.

Link for the release.

I won't argue, as I'll certainly be there, and I usually can't make it when school is in session. Memphis may well be when students are on break too, but I'd hope enough come back a couple days early for it.

And it has always came around to bite us towards tournament selection time

Well, at least we don't have to see College of Charleston again this year. Now if we can see to it that Indianapolis won't be on the exhibition schedule...

I don't understand these in state OOC games. I didn't read the article but I'm guessing they are asking for too much? Pretty ridiculous IMO. A lot of these kids grew up UT fans and it's a shame they don't get to play in TBA. It's good for the state and the fans.

Yea they've raised the amount they want to play UT. So when you can get other low majors to play for 20-40 thousand less, I don't blame UT.
