Schiano vs Ryan Day

can’t believe we missed the opportunity to win anywhere from 5-7 games a year and score no more than 24 points in every sec game we play with Schiano.
Whoever thought Schiano was a good fit at UT was/is a moron. Yes, I’m talking to you Herbsteit and anybody else who suggested it. Turns out Beldar Cornbread was horrible too but that one is solely on Fulmer’s shoulders.

"Obviously I think it's a little bit of a cheap shot," Manning said. "We're taking a knee, we're in a friendly way, and they're firing off, and that's a way to get someone hurt."

After the game, when the traditional coaches' handshake took place, Coughlin let Tampa Bay head coach Greg Schiano know exactly what he thought of the play.

Coughlin started out with a couple of choice words, then came back to give Schiano, who's in his first season as an NFL coach after a successful tenure at Rutgers, a brief education in League Etiquette 101.

I don't think you do that," Coughlin told the media after the game, per Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News. "You don't do that in this league. Not only that, you jeopardize the offensive line, you jeopardize the quarterback. Thank goodness we didn't get anybody hurt — that I know of. A couple of linemen were late getting in."

Coughlin said that his players told him that the idea to scrum came from Schiano, but "I don't know. I don't know that. You'd have to ask them."

Schiano was unmoved. "I don't know if that's not something that's done in the National Football League,'' he said. "What I do with our football team is that we fight until they tell us, 'game over.' And there's nothing dirty about it, there's nothing illegal about it. We crowd the ball like a sneak defense and try to knock it loose."

I'm not sure that was even a called fake. It looked like a rugby kick and the punter tucked it and ran when he realized there was no one there to stop him from getting the first. He could just be coached to do that if it's there.

yup. That is exactly what it was.
Not the punter's fault those idiots from Rutgers completely lost contain.

There weren’t enough blockers - what was the punter supposed to do, try to kick into the onslaught just so Greg didn’t get his feelings hurt?

If the game is over, don’t go for the block; if the game is still on, don’t complain about the other team making a play.

So thankful we didn’t hire that loser.

Love the hit on the punter though.
Don’t run the ball if you don’t want to get hit.
OB or otherwise

Two of the most unlikable coaches in college football. I had no idea who to pull for.
Why is Ryan Day so "unlikable"...... All of his players universally liked him (pro and college) and never any hint of scandal...... in fact the furthest thing from it..... Harry Miller ( a national news story concerning his mental illness and suicidal tendencies) credits Ryan Day with saving his life. He is an elite coach with impeccable character.

You’re right, he’s a great guy and a fantastic coach. If you want to find out how, all you have to do is ask him.
