85 per year for the entire team, but that does not include guys who they can get on acacademic scholarship or guys who play two sports and can get a scholarship for the other sport. Also, believe it or not, some people do pay tuition even though they play football.

IIRC you have to take a scholarship for the biggest sport. That's why they technically considered Helton a baseball walk-on. Could be wrong but that was in my head.

and do they roll over?

what do you mean? They are 1-year renewable scholarships

I think he is talking like rollover minutes on a phone. So if we had two left this class we can add to whatever the number of the next class will be. There is a cut off point around 30.

actually the reality is 24-27 schollys is Optimum, with 1-2 going to Juco, Prep or not qualifying at all and trying something else. Usually 2-4 are going to acquire scholastic scholarships, with the left over 1-3 schollys from that year can be rewarded to a walk-on or some other type of non-scholarship player.

If I'm not mistaken, UT had 15-17 scholarships to give this year due to a relatively small graduating class. UT only has about 16 or 17 Srs on the roster for next year. They won't be able to sign a large class next year either unless several go pro.

If I remember correctly, UT will have about 16 Srs, 19 Jrs, 19 Sophs, and 31 Fr and RS Fr.

This was of course before Wardlow and Davis handed their scholarships back in.

Does anyone know for certain whether those scholarships can be offered now or not? There may still be some unsigned DT's or OL's worth a look.

According to the Rivals list, Bobby Massie a big 4* OL from VA hasn't signed. Could there be some worthwhile DT's too?
