Won't affect it. UT will run into the 25 man scholly limit or the 28 man signing limit. The 2 scholarships they freed up won't be filled this year because of the per year limit.

with all the sholarship players we have lost we resemble a team that has been on probation

So, there is no rule provision that allows you to sign more players if you've got the extra scholarship spots to fill?

Is it true that Juco players and transfers don't count towards that limit?

dont be cute now..mods put search for a REASON. it bogs server down and takes up space that could be used on other things.with that being said.. dont matter what i post on i have both pc and smartphone,and iam smart enough to use them.

Funny how the mods are jumping all over this thread to merge it and whatnot.

Clearly nothing is being answered here, guess I'll go sift through 20 other threads trying to find info.

Okay, UT can count 2 of their early enrollees towards last year's class since last year UT did not sign the full 25 players last year (this is according to Sab). So they can bring in 27 players total in next year's class.

I'm not aware of any exceptions to this except for the back counting. If you sign 25 kids and still don't have 85 scholarships then you're out of luck. So many players have already quit the team I would assume UT can max out this year's class and still not hit the 85 scholly limit, although I think they'll be close. So the 2 scholarships that are freed up by by the suspensions probably won't be filled until the 2011 class.

As far as I know transfers and JUCOs count towards the 25 player limit.

thank you triadvol for actually answering the question. I thought LV said something about 28 maybe even 29 but I got so confused when they explained it idk. Any experts wana help us?

if no one else leaves the team that is supposed to be here next year, we can only sing 24 in next class that can get in. we are currently at 78 players. 17 seniors leave (although Rogers is appealing for a 6th year) which gets us down to 61 meaning all eligible signees over 24 we need more players to leave. Which that will not be a problem.

I predict next years scholarship roster will also be around 80 players when attrition completes

jucos couint toward the 25 limit, transfers from other D-1 schools (the Miami TE for example) do not
