The accident happened in Meigs County. Apparently a utility truck hit the bus head on killing the driver and a 7 yr old. Several other children were injured. Such a tragedy. Prayers for all the families affected.

Meigs South Elementary. This is my childhood home town and I still live 25 minutes away. I went here when it was still called Cedar Valley. So tragic. Wreck happened 2 miles down the road from my mom and dad's house.

I did. Graduated 2003. My sis graduated in 96 I believe, and my brother in 2000.

Most of the people on my friends list on facebook are from Meigs. They keep sharing heartbreaking stories about the situation. One of the girls taken by airlift was the daughter of the bus driver that died. That's a gut punch.

From what I have read, though unconfirmed, the driver of the utility truck lost control, then over-corrected into on coming traffic. Pray for hese kids and the parents and families involved. But also remember the driver of the utility truck in your prayers as it seems like an honest accident. I can't imagine having the weight of that on your heart.
