I guess Scooter is getting a chance to make the NO/ Oklahoma City Hornets squad. He played 7 minutes, went 1-for-3 from the floor for 2 points, and got 1 offensive rebound.

ESPN.com - NBA - Box Score - Mavericks at Hornets

I'm guessing he's a long shot to make the team, but at least he's get his foot in the door. Anyone know if CJ Watson is still getting a chance from the San Antonio Spurs? If not, I guess we'll find out after they play their first pre-season game.

Scooter McFagdon in an NBA uniform for a regular season game would represent a low water mark for the league.

He seemed to get worse over his time at UT. Not surprising, considering the coaching he received.

Sounds like he'd fit well in the NBA if he can't play defense! :)
A popular misconception. With the quality of offensive players in the NBA, if teams didn't play defense, the final scores would be 155-150 every night.

Game 2: 2-for-3 FGs, 1 rebound, 1 steal, 3 TOs, 4 points.

Hatvol, you're not going to tell me that the defense in the NBA today is anything like it was 10-15 years ago, are you? The Bad Boys beating up MJ... that's how defense is supposed to be played.

Are you serious? IMO the defense of today far surpasses anything that was going on 15 years ago. Sure, the Pistons were a great defensive team back then, but now EVERYBODY plays that style. Combine that with the way talent has been dilluted and the fact that nobody has a mid-range game anymore, and I'd be willing to bet that league-wide scoring is down 10-15 points per game from 15 years ago. 100 ppg used to be the norm. Now 100 points is considered an offensive explosion.

The mid-range game is coming back with all the Euros in the league.

Then perspective came upon them all and they said "Who gives a :censored: ...it's the NBA." The world would be a better place if the NBA folded.

Actually, the world would be a better place if you don't make comments that expose your basketball ignorance in public forums.
