The Gators just picked up a commitment from 5* Army All American, Gatordade Player of the Year, QB Scott Brantley. Hewas previosuly committed to Texas.

he's a good one.... he's the real deal. there are talks that he's good enough to challenge Tebow (being a better passer than Tebow). I think that Brantly will be redshirted and take the reign for two years after Tebow leaves. He will be a force.

Tim Tebow will crush him like the annoying nuisance that he is upon his arrival in Gainesville. And Percy Harvin will approve.

This get Texas back for the Snead deal :p BTW, while he's not a dual thread QB..this makes me wonder if Meyer likes the 2 QB system for the future..gonna be interesting.

I wouldn't call this year for Florida a two QB system. You have a QB, Leak, and a fullback, Tebow, that comes in for a few plays.

I'd say he took him because you only have 1 QB on roster next year. Now with Brantley and the JUCO, you will have an option of something happens to Teabag, or if he doesn't turn out.

Actually there are 3 in this class..Brantley, Newton, and Waggener....Not to mention Fayson is an emergency backup as well.

I forgot about Newton. He is raw, but reminds me of VY. Waggener will be a backup at UF. You really don't wanna rely on Fayson as your backup.

Brantley and Newton will RS
Waggener will be the backup
Fayson will play WR

concur on the assessment..although it wouldn't surprise me to see one of those QB's transfer.

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised to see Newton decommit. He said he will stick it out, but it wouldn't surprise me if it happened. I really don't understand taking 3 QBs in one class, especially when you have a solid freshman about to take the reigns.

On a side note, NC, how pumped are you about Butch Davis becoming the head coach at UNC? Now you can claim to have always been a big time UNC football fan, too!

Very pleased...glad they did it in the middle of the season instead of late in the yr. Last UNC game I went to was a few yrs back against the Noles.
