He's quoted today in the Oklahoma City newspaper as saying he's going to wait until OU hires a coach before he makes a decision. I'm certain Coach Pearl is on top of this situation.

How about both??

That would work too, but from what I understand, we only have one scholarship to give.

i wonder how Smith like his visit. He talked about how great the weather was then tornadoes hit last night. I saw him on the field at the UT game and he looked extreamly bored, laying down on the sidelines at one point.

Right now, we only officially have one scholarship to give. But I think if both Reynolds and Smith want to come to Tennessee, Pearl will take both. Things alway have a way of working themselves out. One possibility is Tony Passley. We still don't know if he will even be on the team next year. If he is kicked off the team, that opens up a scholarship. Another possibility is transfers. You never know if one of the players we have right now is thinking about transferring. Grades are also an issue.

If Pearl did somehow land both of those players, we would have probably the third rated class in the nation behind North Carolina and Ohio State. Possibly even above Ohio State.

We would not pass UNC or Ohio State. It would be a great class, but those are two classes for the ages.

You're right. But it would give us 5 top 100 players. Only North Carolina can say that right now.

the problem with signing 4-6 players in one year is, 4 years from now think about the void that will leave on our rosters

We'd find a way to take Reynolds and Smith. You don't turn that down if you're a coach. The numbers will work out somehow. I don't think we'd get Reynolds anyways.

Yeah, but if 5 of those players are top 100, and three are 5-star, you take them. You worry about the void four years later after you've won a couple national championships.
