For all the crap I talked about him, I am now officially eating a big plate of crow. He has really hit a prime here late in the season. He is single handedly carrying this offense. Hopefully he can influence some others to step it up. GBO!

I agree he is playing great, but our team will not be any better on offense when the other team only has to guard 3 of 5 players we put on the court. We need more players to step up

Offense is a definite need from the 1, 3, and 5 positions, but adding to that...defense is where we're getting killed. Harris (I know he's a freshman so save your breath) has got to step up on the defensive end. I'd rather see him foul out than continue to get big-boy'd by his matchup every game.

Ive noticed this a few times as well. Its like hes playing 60%. I dont know what it is. Freshman jitters maybe?

I don't believe it is crap, more like voicing your frustration because you knew he wasn't playing to his potential. i.e. Jeffery Taylor on vandy

i agee we need more than him and tobias though it would be nice to get more out of brianwilliams offensively and if cam tatum wasnt shooting ice cold its bad when scotty hiosn scores 32 and tobias goes for 16 and 8.

If he keeps up at this pace next year e migt get hiself to a lottery pick wantto know ppls thoughts on that

I am more worried for him leaving early. Seriously.

i will agree with OP. i have given hopson lots of grief... especially last year and early this year. after all, he was 2 free throws from giving us a lead with just seconds left to get us to our first Final Four. putting that aside... he has played great most of the season and i will gladly eat some crow. if he continues his aggressive play and can keep it up during the post season... he may get enough attention to go in the lottery. which would mean more crow coming my way. lol. i'd love to see him dominating and being taken in the lottery. it would be great for our program.

Hopson has been a absolute playmaker the last couple of games we'll need it tomorrow in Nashville

I agree that Scotty has been hit-or-miss, but he's definitely picking the right part of the season to up his game if the lottery is in his future. After the GA game, I had a bit of a bittersweet feeling about him. I really think he might be gone.

He's played at an All-American level the last few games. If he keeps this up, I think it helps his draft stock exponentially.

He hasn't played exceptionally all year. He's played exceptionally in about 3 games the entire year.

I guess I said "exceptionally" by the standards that Hopson built his first two seasons on. He's improved in a lot of areas like overall shooting, especially FTs, he's a little smarter - more aware of himself and his surroundings, ball-handling (albeit slightly, but you have to admit this season has been comparatively better), developed a decent floater, has a better scorer's mentality, etc. All those things I claim are compared to where he was even just a year ago.

Since we're on the subject, I would like to point out again that Scotty has been a great figure for the basketball program and the university. He has a lot of school spirit, stays out of trouble, haven't heard of any problems in the classroom (not holding my breath tho), and very importantly: he is very composed and articulate in interviews. He's gotten a lot this season. But that "balls out" line was slip. And it was hilarious.

I still just dont think hes ready. He could get picked up and absolutely flop and never see the court. He could also lay it out and ball. But, I just think it would be to his benefit to come back. NCAA investigations will of course have some say in that decision as well.
