I remember watching the U.S. Army AA game; Jefferies and Benedict were calling themselves the Vol wall. That really panned out.

I always wondered what happened to Jefferies and Benedict.

Knowledge is power.

Looks like Jefferies were not satisfied with being 3 string OG. He transfered to a JC, then was recruited by UNC in 2005. (Does anyone know why he was listed as a UAB DT by some places?) Benedict transferred to D-2 Newberry College for whatever reason...

The '04 class is gonna have more then their fair share of busts as well, along with someone saying that class was vastly overrated.

Gibril Wilson
Jonathan Wade
James Wilhoit
Marvin Mitchell
JT Mapu
Justin Harrell
Parys Haralson
Jason Hall
Omar Gaither
Jason Allen

Thats ten players that played well while at UT in the 2002 class. I wish we had redshirted Gaither, Haralson. They really could have helped out this year.

Strange... the 5 stars didn't pan out but the 4s sure as hell did. The thing with that class is that highly recruited QBs, OLinemen, sometimes recievers, and defidently TEs are very unpredictable. Notice that all the linebackers, DTs, and DBs turned out to be studs. Usually that comes from good size but bad attitudes. Athletic ability and attitude are the key.

i feel like O-linemen are the most common busts, or are just the most unpredictable but what do i know

I think it's because offense is more skill and defense is more athleticism. Athleticism is easier to scout than skills.
