Okay guys...time to start thinking about Saturday...What do we know about Wichita State? Do we match up any better with them than we did with Winthrop? What are their strengths? weaknesses?

Size-wise, we matchup well with them. Their starters are 5-11, 6-2, 6-4, 6-8 and 6-10 and they have 3 subs that are 5-11, 6-5, 6-6. They shoot the 3 very well. They are decent offensively and rebound very well. They have pretty good defense as well. They spread it around and have 4 players that average over 10 points a game, but the top averages only 13. They seem to be alot like us except they aren't as good offensively, but better defensively and rebounding.

Yes, physically similar, and if our interior guys play like they did today, that may even be an ADVANTAGE. However, they defend REALLY well, and shoot the three ball. They were hot today, SH didn't have a chance.

they are very good, but dont give them all that much credit today for their win. seton hall plain out sucks and had no buisness being in the tourney.

As far as big wins, they beat Bradley twice, beat Southern Illinois once, beat Creighton once, and beat Missouri St twice. They also lost to Illinois by 1, Mich St by 19, and George Mason by 3. As far as bad losses, they didn't really have any.

I know that they defend very well, but, as far as their starters go, I don't see anyone they can put on Lofton. The starting SF is only 6'4" so Chris can shoot over him. One of their key backups may have to guard him. I think our press can get to them since they only play 8. They shoot 3 well as do we so the winner may be the team that shoots the 3 better.

Yes they do have an awesome defense. They give up an average of 61 points a game. They've only given up more than 70 points 5 times this year with a high of 83 and are 2-3 in those games. They've also given up less than 50 in 3 games with a low of 44. They give up an average of 66 points a game in their 8 losses. The least points given up in a loss is 55.

Whatever! You know some people don't read every thread :moon2:
True, but if they have a question that is OBVIOUS it has been answered already, it doesn't take 5 seconds to use the 'search' function. That thread is on the second page of the board. I wouldn't have given this answer had I not already answered the question TWICE.

There's always cbssportsline.com or espn.com as well. Don't be so LAZY.

Witchita State is a very solid team. I just got home from Greensboro and they impressed me the most out of the 4 teams I saw...

They are solid shooters, disciplined and like to work the post with Miller.

Of course, Seton Hall had no business being there. They were horrible, so WS could've looked good because SH was so bad.

OWB, you going back saturday?

I don't know yet. I had a blast today though. Lofton's last shot was money, it was coming right at me. I'm really proud of guys today. They overcame a lot.

Big difference their Miller will own Wingate inside

They are the same size. I wasn't talking about talent. Miller averages about 3 more points and 3 more rebounds a game. He is also a good 3 point shooter. If Wingate plays Saturday like he did today, it could end up a push or even advantage UT.

I really enjoyed SMith's deep three off the glass...

Yeah, that was one of our many --- pass around the perimeter and move as little as possible then shoot a deep ball with 2 seconds left --- plays. :banghead:

The good news is, CJ got a lot of rest today. Props to Jordan for taking care of the ball.

Well, with as much standing around as they do on offense, all of the players should be rested.

Good point. It was almost as if Pearl was trying to save some energy today and just survive. We didn't press as much as I thought we would either.

This just doesn't seem like the same team from earlier in the season. Not as much intensity. We didn't have many transition baskets either...
