From UT Sports:

Tennessee held its second major scrimmage of spring practice 2004 this afternoon at Neyland Stadium in front of many of the participants taking part in the Phillip Fulmer Coaching Clinic held this weekend on campus.

Offensively Jayson Swain stood out, with seven catches for 122 yards. C.J. Leak was 13-for-23 for 154 yards and two scores. Rick Clausen was 10-for-20 for 105 yards.

Defensively, Jarod Parrish had six tackles, one tackle for loss (-1) and an interception with an 11-yard return. Omar Gaither had five tackles, including a tackle for loss (-5), while Corey Campbell had three tackles and two pass breakups. Turk McBride had two tackles, one for loss (-3) and had a recovered fumble, returning the bobble 51 yards. Jared Hostetter had a sack of Leak that took away 14 yards and added an assist.

"Jayson Swain had a big day," head coach Phillip Fulmer said. "I thought Jarod Parrish had a big day out there. Standing behind the offense, it's hard to see how the safeties are doing but I noticed Jarod Parrish."

Freshman Robert Meachem caught a 34-yard TD pass from Leak, while C.J. Fayton caught a 19-yarder near the end of the scrimmage, also from Leak. Fayton had four catches for 63 yards, while Meachem had three for 45 yards.

Jabari Davis 13 carries for 56 yards, while David Yancey had 14 carries for 35 yards.

Dustin Colquitt had 10 punts for a 40.5-yard average.

"The best thing I liked today was we did a good job with the punt team," Fulmer said. "It was good to see Dustin punt the ball as well as he did. That was consistent. The rest of it, we weren't consistent enough on defense and we really weren't consistent on offense to be where we want to be."

Offensively, starters were Albert Toeaina, Rob Smith, Jason Respert, Richie Gandy and Michael Munoz. Leak was the quarterback, with Cedric Houston at tailback and Victor McClure at fullback. Wideouts were Fayton, Derrick Tinsley and Swain. Defensively, it was Karlton Neal, Justin Harrell, Jesse Mahelona and Parys Haralson up front. Linebackers were Kevin Burnett, Jason Mitchell and Kevin Simon. In the secondary were Jason Allen, Antwan Stewart, Brandon Johnson and Campbell.

Held Out (Spring Injuries): WR Tony Brown (shoulder sprain), WR Chris Hannon (ankle sprain), OG Cody Douglas (ankle sprain), RB Gerald Riggs (ankle), OG Arron Sears (ankle), TB Corey Larkins (ankle), DT Matt McGlothlin (ankle).

Saturday Injuries: DB Antwan Stewart (left knee, ligament tear, continuing to be evaluated), RB Cedric Houston (left finger, to be evaluated).

Jarod Parrish continues to make a name for himself imo.
