Just read where there won't be many green jerseys in today's scrimmage. Cutcliffe said that he wants his QB's to feel that pressure.

When asked about it, Cutcliffe responded:

"I don't think there's any question we have to do that, we've got a guy who is the starter (Ainge) who needs to play real. It didn't go well for him last year and he needs to play football. We've got Jonathan Crompton who hasn't played football in quite some time ."

He wants to see how they react when hear footsteps. He said that he wants the whole offense to realize that this isn't tag anymore, it's real.

So let's all keep our fingers crossed today and hope this move pays off. :cross:

I continue to be pleased with Cut's attention to detail. Nothing less than perfection is accepted. I am very optimistic that we will see marked improvement on the offensive side of the ball this season.

I agree. I don't think there's much to worry about with the green jerseys off. It's a little risky, but I'm sure the defense won't try and kill him either. Cut needs to see Ainge play under pressure sooner than later so they have him as ready as he can be come the Cal game.

Wish I could watch that scrimmage today.

Me too. But, then again, our college-days Sunday morning 4-on-4 looked better than last year's O.

Sad but true.

Our 2005 offensive performance set the bar low enough that surely it will be surpassed this season.

It should be surpassed. We averaged 18.6 points a game last year and Cut is aiming for 30 a game. I don't see a position that we shouldn't be better at on offense this year.

I love having 30 the goal, but with the strength of the SEC trending towards defenses, I doubt we will see it.

Anyone know what time the scrimmage is? I'm wondering when reports will start coming in.

I've heard 2:15 and I've heard 4. I think we can average 30. We have a few games that we should hang 40.

Air Force, Marshall, Memphis, Vandy, and Kentucky could see 40+. Cal and USC could see 30+. UF, UGA, Bama, LSU, and Arky would be tough to land more than 28.

I'm excited to see an offense be crisp and execute plays with purpose. Cut will attack the Defense! not take what they give them.

IMO, Cal may be the only game we HAVE to have more than 30 to win. So here's to getting a quick jump start on Offfense.
