looks like the NFL has voided his contract with the saints, making him a free agent and able to leave according to league sources on espn....what are the chances we can pull that one?:hi:

He at least would continue SEC tradition of paying players. But this time instead of paying them to come to school he would pay them to injury other players.

About as good as Hunter catching a pass with nobody around him

Not going to happen. I would say worse then our chances of landing Cowher. Saints owner Tom Benson would double any offer we send Payton's way.

I have actually heard his name around, wouldn't be awful at all if Gruden somehow falls through.

Jerry Jones will give him a blank check and let him fill out whatever he wants.

If we are going to throw out NFL coaches other than Gruden, bring me Bill Cowher and Eric Mangini (DC).

Why would we want a guy who was suspended to paying bounties to hurt opponents? Thats even worse than wanting Petrino here. Which wont happen in any of lifetimes.

I wouldn't mind Peyton. At least Mark Richt wouldn't have the smuggest smile in college football anymore. Man do I hate that guy!

Let me preface this with this: I want Gruden. Hands down I think he's the best man for the job. However, I get a gut feeling every day that we're getting further away from that being reality, and it sucks, but it still begs the question of our next coach.

Sean Payton's contract has been voided by the NFL, and the general thinking is that he'll end up in Dallas, still in the pro game.

So here are my questions:

1)Do you think Payton would even entertain the idea?
2) Do you think he'd be a good fit?

Would love to have him but why would he leave the NFL (where he has had success) to come to a down Tennessee Program

Payton doesn't give two turds about coaching college football. He is a NFL man through and through.
