clean or dirty because it was the pro bowl? I always thought there was a players rule that you really don't try to destory anybody....even more so when it's the freakin' punter!

reguardless, it was a hell of a hit :eek:hmy:

I wish they'd just scrap the Pro Bowl altogether. As good a job as the NFL does in promoting itself, their All Star game is easily the worst of any major sport.

Absolutely nothing dirty about it, this is still football afterall.

It would've been just another hit if not for the punter flying backwards 5 yards.

The best part was Moorman getting up and going over to acknowledge Taylor and Taylor just sort of gave him the "Why are you congratulating me?" look.

Word. I think they should just do like D-IA and have all-league teams but no game for it. The skills challenges would still be good, though.

That was pretty funny. It was like Taylor realized that if he acknowledged Moorman, he would lose all street cred.

It was a damn punter. Oh, you are so bad Sean Taylor.

Lets remember that Taylor, like Ray Lewis, has shot at or killed some ppl. Why is he even playing??

When did Ray Lewis shoot at anyone? I thought that one of his acquaintances stabbed somebody, but I haven't heard anything about gunplay.

I can't decide how I feel about the hit. Yeah, it was a great hit and fun to watch. It's still the pro-bowl...where there is no blitzing, no trips, no motion, etc...so to me, it isn't the same as a real game. Plus, it was the punter...hits like that dont make any kind of statement if its against a short scrawny guy whos only job is to kick the ball.

When the punter was runnin on the field i was thinking that he was pissed and was gonna try to throw down on taylor. I was hopin he would give him "The U" treatment and go in with the helmet swingin :aggressive:

It was the punter. Didn't need to kill him. He could have just picked him up and set him down nicely out of bounds away from harm. :ermm:

On a Pro Bowl related note...

Reason #762 the Pro Bowl is a joke: Vince Young was on the roster.

to be fair, he was the 5th guy invited. brady was "hurt" and mcnair gave his spot up to young since he was next in line. IMO, after the big 3 (Manning, Brady, Palmer), you could just draw names for an AFC qb.

Taylor is a beast. You'd be hard pressed to find a guy in the NFL who sacrifices their body more than Taylor. He just doesn't care..

Are people really criticizing a football player for hitting somebody too hard?

It's a sad state of affairs if the AFC only had 4 QBs better than Vince Young in 2006.

I would've watched if I knew he was gonna be playing!

yeah i was thinking the same thing, then i went and looked at the other qbs. Rivers I think was hurt too, so Young was the 6th choice. The other top options were Pennington, Losman, and Big Ben. It is kinda surprising that the AFC is the dominant conference, but has some pretty mediocre QBs on most of the teams...

After muffing that punt at the end of the game in against us in '03 that sealed the victory for us, Sean Taylor has a free pass to do whatever he pleases.

Doesn't matter if it was the punter, the QB or whoever else, if they have the ball then they are fair game. The one thing in football you never do is try to halfass hit somebody, that's when you get hurt yourself. It was a clean hit and a damn good one. I don't think coach B calls for that play if it had been his own punter though.

Moorman is a very, very fast guy. He was a track star in high school. I wouldn't be surprised if he's the fastest guy not at RB, WR, or DB. In fact, he's faster than an awful lot of those skill position players. That's why Bellicheck thought he could pick up a first down. As for Bellicheck using his own punter, Sauerbran is the punter that got caught using steroids, so I think it would only be fair to let him try to use that chemically enhanced body, only to see it get abused by Sean Taylor.

Everybody knows the only solution is to can the all-star game in the NFL. It's a terrible idea, players could (and do) get hurt, for an exhibition nobody cares about to begin with. Maybe have some skills challenges or something, instead.

They should just have the opposing coaches square off with this baby...
