After an abysmal first week, the SEC was--technically--perfect in Week 2: 10-0 against all OOC opponents, 2-0 against the Power 5.
Even with the perfect streak of games yesterday hiding some anemia in UGa's limping performance against Nicholls (who?), that's a vast improvement over Week 1's 6-6 vs OOC / 3-4 vs Power 5.
Not too far behind the SEC this weekend was the PAC, at 8-2 OOC, 3-0 vs Power 5. Recall that the PAC had the absolute worst performance of the P5 conferences in Week 1...so this was a bit of redemption for both the top performing conferences of this weekend.
The biggest loser of Week 2? The B12. They were a shocking 4-5 against all OOC opponents yesterday, and a horrific 0-3 against Power 5 foes. Sure, Oklahoma and Texas won, but things did not otherwise go well for the cowpoke conference.
Consolidating Weeks 1 and 2, it is now all a muddle. Four of the five Power conferences have an OOC win rate between 68% and 78% (the B12 is the outlier, down below 60%), and a P5-versus-P5 win percentage between 50% and 57% (again, B12 is the lone wolf, at 33%).
So at this point, two weeks in, it's hard to say which conference is best. They're all kind of even. The only statement we can make with a bit of confidence is that the B12 seems to be shaping up as the worst.
