Sorry if this speculation has already been posted. i don't have time to read every thread on VN. My opinion is that Hart / Boosters have had several conversations with Gruden and knew long before now that it wasn't going to happen. I think they know who their man is, and they want the announcment to happen tomorrow night while everyone is watching AL - GA to get the most attention possible. Today's announcement that Gruden's Agent was contacted was a formality to make sure the fans knew an attempt was made, hense the due diligence comments.

There are several coaches out there that can do a great job, but only one that was going to unite everyone, no matter how far fetched. If everyone was realistic, this would not have had to happen this way.

There won't be an announcement tomorrow. If there was going to be an announcement to take advantage of the SEC Championship exposure, it would have happened today. At this point you have to conclude that Hart doesn't know what he's doing going forward and has been basically twiddling his thumbs, waiting for the coach's convention in a week or so.

I know MLB has a policy against making hiring/firing announcements during the WS. Not sure what the SEC policy is, but pretty sure they would discourage it just the same.
