Has anyone bought SEC championship tickets mid-season and sold them? I am contemplating a purchase before the UGA game. Is it difficult to get rid of them without a large loss, in case we don't make it?

I doubt you will have any trouble unloading them and making some cash. I don't hear about a lot of losses when you get them early. The value and demand goes way up once teams earn their place. Hell, my SC tickets are looking nice. I kind of hope those cocks keep winning and end up around 10-15th when they play Tennessee.

I've been getting SEC championships for about 20 years now and unfortunately reselling them. You will have no issue reselling the tickets but you may not get back what you paid for them after factoring in fees from reseller sites if you resell them thru StubHub, Vivid, etc. PayPal, Venmo and similar sites are also now required to report payments over $600 you receive to the IRS so you may also have income tax due if you are able to sell at a profit.

Does anyone know how many tickets each school gets? Do season tickets holders get priority?

It’s been awhile since it was a concern.

SEC Championship tickets are very difficult to obtain. Some people have been on the waiting list for over 10 years without success. They are very expensive to obtain from ticket holders as well. If you are a "ranking" season ticket holder with an SEC school a large amount of tickets are designated for participating schools.

My dad has been a ticket hold since 1990s and has VERY GOOD seats now as a result. We actually went for first time last year wearing Orange to Alabama vs. Georgia (that got attention).

Ironically, we joked about scoping it out for next year. Now that could be a reality.

The wife innocently thought since I was looking rather animated and happy with UT football this year, she would get me SEC championship tickets as a gift and went to the SEC site last week to get them. Bless her heart, doesnt quite get how these ticket things work. Ah well.

The SEC sets the Football Championship ticket procedures, and 32,600 tickets (16,300 per school) are allocated to the participating institutions. The SEC distributes the remaining tickets to the SEC office, sponsors, suites, Mercedes-Benz lease holders and SEC Championship season ticket holders.

Thanks. If UT gets 16,300 (if we win the East), I assume season ticket holders get first stab at those.

I would expect only season ticket holders with donation rankings in the 3000 range or lower would have a shot at seats.

That total will include seats for university and AD administration, coaches & player families, Shareholder Society, the band, faculty/employee, students, etc.

I can't believe we are looking for SEC title game tickets, in late October, expecting the Vols to be there. This is all so weird and surreal. Can't believe this is real life and we've come this far this fast.

I know. I live in DC and cannot make it to too many games. If I make it to a game, might as well be the SEC Championship. I imagine that the price won't skyrocket until we play UGA and Bama plays Ole Miss. I'll wait a week before making my purchase.

I got picked in the SEC lottery last week for 2 tickets. They are the far corner nosebleed. All in price is $160 per seat.

So all the markups you see to 500 at minimum will be profit to the seat holders.

They told me it will take likely 10 years to move to the lower bowl, or close to the 50 in the uppers. Worth the wait in my opinion.

Congrats @NcVolfan24! I won the lottery 16 years ago myself getting lucky with four seats. Make sure you always renew. When renewals go out, click upgrade option. When you get your time slot for upgrade, call them. Don’t do online. Their system doesn't always load in all available seats for some reason.
I started in myself in the nose bleed. Now I have all four of mine together in the mezzanine area. You will work your way down over time.

I can vouch for this. The season tickets I have currently in W weren’t available online, but I called and got them to put me there. Was in Z11 before, which were good, but these are awesome.
