SEC Coach of the Year goes to

Not saying he didn't do a great job, because he did. LSU has had a great season. But, he had A LOT more to work with than Pearl. Its kind of like Brady walked into the best hospital with state of the art equipment and perfomed a flawless surgery. Then Pearl walked into a hut in the jungles of Columbia and performed a flawless surgery with tools made out of cutlery. Come one, honestly, whose coaching job was more impressive? Who did more with less?

That's the tough thing about Coach of the Year awards. It's completely subjective. If you use the "more with less" standard, guys like Coach K and Jim Calhoun would never win. But if you simply look league standings, great work like that performed by Pearl and Andy Kennedy have done this year goes unrecognized.
