Proof that beauty is in the eye of the beholder . . . Mike Shula makes more money than Mark Richt.

Yeah Fulmer won't resign if you look at him contract if he were to resign he'd have to pay back like a million dollars to the university in damages, if he gets fired he has no obligation to the University.

Thats all if I read it right. Check it for your self.

The University can always waive enforcement of such a clause. If TCHFCATUTK wanted to walk away, UT wouldn't try to stop him.

All the SEC coaches pictures when you click their names are gameday sideline shots. Except Phil. His is a glamour shots photo. Nice.

I wonder what % of Vol fans want him to go,and what % want him to stay? I would say 30% say go 60% stay and 10% unsure.Someone do a pole for keep and release.

Depends on your definition of "fan". By my definition, I'd say 90% stay and 10% go. If you include the fairweather bunch - it would skew it down to 85% stay. IMO.

I love how people who actually demand excellence from the program are considered "fairweather." If that's the case, I'll the fairweather crowd over the TCHFCATUTK slurping, mediocrity accepting lemmings everyday.

On a sidebar, any correlation between coaches salaries and ticket prices?

I think the escalating prices of football tickets, and the fact that players are only given tuition and board, while coaches are making millions doesn't sit well with me.

Not to mention the football program has to pay for the women's basket weaving team. There are a lot of changes need to be made. A head coach is only as good as his staff and his players, buy why is he the one receiving all the compensation?

I am not a fan of CPF. He obviously does not preach discipline as shown by the play on the field and the incidents off the field. UT has had a lack of discipline for the last few years and a lack of discipline shows when you have close losses. I have noticed a down turn in team work and behavior over the last few years and I think it is time for CPF to go.

Dude, get off the negatives already. You can be in the 10% of true fans calling for Fulmer to leave if it makes you feel better. No need in making bogus attacks...sheesh :cray:

Back in my day on the Hill (80's), the womens athletic programs got almost all their money from the student activity fee. I think with the separate Men's and Women's Athletic Depts. that probably is still the case. The Men's Athletic Dept. pretty much keeps all it earns from tickets, VASF donations, TV revenue, and Bowl/NCAA tourney payouts. Quite a chunk of change when it's all added up.

UT has been a major national player in the past. We recruit all over the country, We have one of the largest fan bases in the country, and use to be in the running for NC and SEC titles regularly. IMO Fulmer is not controlling the team. When things go bad on the filed they fall apart, there are off field incidents (so many that we have been reffered to as Thug U), and There have been few true leaders on this team coach and player wise in the last few years. I will always be a UT fan and I am happier this season that we are winning but if we are truly going to be a national power 9-3 or 10-2 finishes aren't going to do it anymore. Not winning an SEC title in 8 years is not going to do it. You can be a fan of the team and demand better. UT fans deserve better than what we have gotten in the last 5 seasons! If Pat Summit started turning out teams that were good but not great what would people say? What if she did it for 5 years in a row? When you set the bar high you better be ready to reach it every year.

I am sorry for the rant but being a fan doesn't mean that you can't question how the program is being run.

You have every right to rant - and this is an excellent format for that.

If you need an example of the team pulling together when things go bad - flash back a few weeks to halftime of the GA game. We loose a couple in a row and everyone on here thinks the sky is falling.

Losing in such a manhandled, lopsided way to Arkansas will do that to a Tennessee fan. If it doesn't do that to you, then I'd question your expectations and your idea of just who "Tennessee" is.

We don't get beat up. We don't get pushed around. And that is exactly what we did for the entire game last weekend.

I agree that we have lost to 3 very good football teams and that beating Georgia, Alabama, and the Head Cock is an improvement over next year. So, the sky might not be falling just yet. OTOH, a loss in the next two weeks just might land the blue yonder smack dab in the middle of our front yards.

Man it's funny when someone questions the direction of a team that they love enough to come to a message board to discuss and there labeled a "fairweather" because they question.

No doubt - we got punk'd last weekend. Although, everything considered, we saw it coming. Emotional loss week before, banged up players, police blotter, night SEC road game, etc. Cards were stacked heavily against us. Fact that we were a small underdog was based primarily on the history of the two schools.

AR was clicking and we sputtered all night. We ran into a buzz saw is the way I look at it. I was disappointed, but I knew the stars would need to align for us to win.

But I agree - a loss the next two weeks, and I'll start to join the boo birds.

I think you misinterpreted my post. The question was asking what % wants fulmer to stay vs go. IMO Nine in ten true fans say he stays. That has nothing to do with questioning calls and Sunday morning quarterbacking the team. That's what this board is for. But to come right out and call for the coaches head is not questioning. Folks have the right to call for him to leave, but I think they are in the vast minority at this point.

I mean I'm not saying fire him, but I really think somethings gotta give. It obvious that we're not what Tennessee Football is traditionally. Tennessee football runs the ball and stops the run. Thats what were known for, thats our bread and butter. That is why we won a NC.

And to say that hat is calling for heads is making it sound like every post has him saying FIRE HIM. He's made clear that he don't like Fulmer and has backed it up every time why he doesn't and I can't really argue with him at all. Just remember it all starts at the top.
