SEC Commish Calls Out UCF

No need we play FSU every year Miami about twice a decade plus we play USF UCF all them just not every it’s like Miami they rotate idk I’m how many times but pretty once each but that’s just a guess Im not sure how many times we’ve played them but we have played both within last 10 years

UCF has just risen literally the year Blake Bortles and Storm Johnson was their first really good year I believe

Now they real nice streak going and their on top on their conference

Jmo but making an already tough schedule even tougher is just dumb

Sure FSU sucks now but so did we for a long time **** runs in cycles

But for the most has been like a top 5 team they are as tough as any ooc opponents in the stack em up for 30 years I doubt they’d add up to all those top 5 finishes in a row 3 titles and 2 or 3 other appearances title games

Plus after sucking for a few years the east on the rise now ya our isn’t a moron

Thank you for proving my point. You guys have too much lose to schedule UCF. Other major five power teams feel the exact same thing.

I'm sure UCF would like to play some power five teams to prove their worth, but AD's and coaches won't schedule them because they are scared.

Most the teams schedule big OOC games is for recruiting purposes ans UF needs to focus on Fla

Although I wouldn’t mind getting more DMV and Carolina kids

We could use some more Harvin, Haden, Spikes, Dunlap types

Another reason is because I flat out do not want yearly rivalry game with UCF hell no we’re above that bs plus all it would do is grow their brand a ton

They got the USF rivalry and it works u got 2 big cities Tampa and Orlando and believe it or not it is a heated rivalry for the people that went to school there

I got 2 buddies that went to USF it’s legit to them even tho nobody gives a ****

UCF should just wait their turn and keep winning then join the sec or acc

Or maybe big 12 West Virginia being in there makes no since geographically so who cares

Get off the high horse.

You already scheduled USF with one game in Tampa and two in Gainesville. Your own AD had said he wants to do the same with UCF. You probably don’t want to play too many Fl schools the same year was my point. I’ve read some of your own fans so they dislike playing FSU every year.

I don't know what Gator fans you are referring to that believe Florida shouldn't play Florida State on a yearly basis.

I will tell you, and I am willing to bet heavily the Gator posters here will agree with this, what most Gators think.

Most don't feel it's fair to add another quality opponent while others play crap all year.....But, if we did, the majority would say add Miami.

And if not Miami......they would say add some sort of OOC opponent with a name.

No one wants to play UCF or USF. And if it is scheduled it's because it makes cents (pun intended).

I’m not sure what your point is

Honestly I really wouldn’t care that much it’s not like I see UCF becoming the new boise st or anything sure they good now but I could see that coming to an end soon then they’ll bounce back then suck again and so on

Let’s see how they do without the qb in the bowl game if they win ok that’s a statement there

Actually, I think there is a good possibility that UCF does become a Boise State. Obviously, they are in a great recruiting are, attractive to transfers, and they continue to build their on campus athletic facilities. Finally, just the sheer size of the school will help.

It all depends on whether they can continue to get good coaching. They could dominate the rest of AAC for a long time.

Ya they have all the resources for sure but the constant that kept them good was Petersen and his loyalty

He actually turned down USC I believe

UCF isn’t so lucky

I agree with your other points tho

good place for fla kids to transfer to

They are a big school too huge student population

If they can become Boise st and maintain hell they could get lucky and start keeping Orlando kids home even the good ones could say frick the big I’m staying home and winning

The problem tho? If the coaches are successful they will leave unless their soft and know they got it good where they are and don’t wanna risk testing the waters

What’s the point it would be a huge charity to give them yearly game that they would like forward every year

Hell before Bortles got there they were the type of team we paid to come take an L

It’s way too soon to believe their legit Frost is gone and if they keep wining the new guy will be too

So I at least they are far from BSU

Hell BSU beat Oregon Oklahoma Georgia etc

UCF beat an Auburn team with no kerryon and as we’ve found out this year without him stidham is not good

I think I proved my own point no Petersen means no chance of a BSU type run

In 79-80, FSU was an independent and went 21-3. Prior to that they were nobody. Bowden took the job in ‘76 and wanted to make them a household name and scheduled 5 straight road games for 1981 (Nebraska, Ohio St,Notre Dame, Pitt, and LSU) worked for them......UCF should do the same.
Don’t demand a home-home. Also....not 5 in a row.....maybe 2🤔

UCF has to reckon with the financial reality of their situation. They do not call the shots. The school is big enough to be a factor. Stop acting like you got "dissed" when you make virtually no effort to prove your worth.

Agree with this.

UCF did this to themselves. We all know they're an overrated mid-major taking advantage of a weak schedule, like that Hawaii team that got slaughtered by UGA whenever that was. Their own arrogance is what breeds this.

I believe that was 2007 season, a year after another school in their conference, Boise State, upset Oklahoma in the Fiesta Bowl.

Biggest difference between UCF and Hawaii, before and after that year, Hawaii hasn't done anything. If it wasn't for essentially creating a bowl game specifically so they could have a post season game, Hawaii wouldn't even get what little attention it does and quite possibly would have ended their program.

UCF has their Fiesta Bowl upset victory against Baylor from the 2013 season, and their undefeated season and Peach Bowl win last year. Not exactly playoff material, but there are Power 5 schools that have not earned a spot in, much less won, two separate BCS/NY6 bowl games in the last decade.

FSU isn’t leaving our schedule to make room for UCF...later for that nonsense.

After next season we will have played Miami for the fifth time since 2002.

We’ve made our offer to UCF, and they blinked. We don’t owe UCF anything more than what’s been offered...and they already owe us a home game.
