SEC Commitment Comparison 10/12/10

Great, it is based on star values which pretty much makes this worthless. JMO.

South Carolina is doing pretty well for itself and our class is as good as theirs.
I'm not worried.

Why? Star evaluation is probably the best broad class comparision we have at this point.

It is too hit or miss IMO. It's like a GPA in college. It is a good indicator of how much ability somebody has, but it certainly isn't the best indicator of how good of a worker somebody will be out of college. I manage a couple of guys at work that were 2.7-2.9 coming out of school and I would take them in both work ethic and ability over some other guys I know that graduated in the 3.7-4.0 range.

We have all seen 5 star busts, and we have all seen 5 star superstars. Again, too hit/miss for my taste. Offer lists and coaching evaluations mean more.

If we had all 4* & 5* commitments, I guarantee this board would have full faith in the numbers and not complain that we don't have enough "character 3's".

Add Clear and Richardson (two 4*'s) and that will bring the total to four 4*'s. Add Vincent Dallas and Jordan Williams (two 3*'s) and that will bring the total to 17 3*'s. Total committments of 21. These are the guys I see UT having the best chances with while Dallas and Williams are locks.

Therefore, I would say we'd hop UGA and Arkansas to be behind LSU, Bama, UF, USCe, and Ole Miss. The future is bright, IMO.

Recruiting rankings mean jack squat, but 5th in the SEC is unacceptable here.

Don't forget Mickey Johnson - Yahoo! Sports who is a 4* even on ESPNU

All these complaints on here about not getting 5* players and the entire SEC has only 3 of them committed? Maybe the whining should calm down just a little bit for the next 16 weeks and see how it plays out!

He doin bad in school or do you just see him as Broussardesque because he's a big man from LA?

Risean Broussard has nothing to do with it. He's got a very small chance of getting in to LSU, which is where I'd bet he'll sign. He's named approximately 12 different leaders in the last week to different outlets, the feeling in LA is that he's just messing around and having a good time with the process. Either way, JUCO is the safest bet by far as to where he'll be playing next year.

A few 4*s wouldn't hurt.

All you needed to say was that he isn't doing well in school

I'll bet anyone who wants in on sig/avi that
1. He will not make into school
2. He will not choose Tennessee

Yea. I don't like our chances with him. He has bad grades and he, if he gets the grades, will go out west (UCLA). Otherwise, it may be down to UT/LSU. At any rate, I don't see him getting in, like warrior said.

Not to mention, I feel like he is comparable to Allan Carson. Johnson is a shorter, stockier DT that uses a lot of lower body strength (even though this dude apparently benches 400+).

Truer words have never been spoken my friend.

You also have to factor them into signing more, unless they are done with 16 and 20 recruits respectively.

But are we supposed to ignore the fact that according to this, we only have 2 of the 57 combined 4 and 5 stars committed according to this chart? I agree there is a lot of time left, let's hope CDD earns that paycheck!
