We have a lot of work to do and Florida has some losing to do if we are gonna get this.....so what team(s) will beat UF this season.....and will we need a major miracle to win the rest of our SEC games?

Lsu auburn and uga all have good shots at beating fla and Uk always play fla tough and don't forget about the ole ball coach. All Utk needs is Fla to lose twice which is a good possibility with that schedule

That's not all we need. We need to win out.

yeah, i kind of agree here...i can see UF losing two games, but not three....we would have to win out for us to get in, and i can't see us beating LSU at this time.

I love the fact that we have a shot to beat UF. But I wouldnt bet on it. We could field 22 All Americans and still find a way to lose that game. Man I really hate Florida. That being said I still say we win this year (of course I say that every year)

Sorry to say it, fade, but I got Florida in that game. Us Vols fans are all hoping like heck you beat Florida, but I think Florida is just too talented and y'alls offense is just too inexperienced to move the ball enough FTW.

UGA will play stronger defense against UF than the Vols did. Also, the Dawgs under Richct can generally count on their defense to get them somewhere between 6-10 ppg. It should be a good one.

I haven't seen enough og Ga. to know what they got. That is a tough front 7 to face for a rookie but the bulldogs can run the ball and they have a good def as well. They play them later in the season so that is a plus. I give them decent chance barring injury. We have to run the SEC table. That is our only chance.

While I think Leak is as likely as a candidate for 1st team SEC QB as there has ever been, Meyer's mix use of Tebow and Leak with strong o-line play, with Deshawn Wynn available to run, and a solid, good defense will probably lead the Gators to Atlanta.

You are probably correct. Even when Tebow is in and everyone will know why, they will not tackle him any better then we did. But, the spoof is coming. Just when everyone thinks they know, he will pull up and throw deep to a wide open receiver for the game.

 Well when he was in against us... Like they say, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Run the damn play 'til it don't work no more.

the only things that I am sure of are
1. it will be a great game as usual
2. we will play tight
3. I will still hate the Gators no matter the outcome.

I think UGA beats the Gators this year.
and that only matters if we take care of business in Athens this year...i kind of agree with those that think we need to win out...i can't see us losing another conf. game and going to ATL....

that would then mean that UF would have to lose 3 conf. games...and i don't see that happnening...

Does UGA get Florida at the swamp?

They play in Jacksonville, FL every year - considered neutral grounds.
Apparently they can't visit each others schools without tearing their rivials' campus up :lolabove:

They did play at Athens and Gainesville in the 1990s a few times, or at least a home and away series.

Question.

How many people will die of heart attacks in Knoxville and Baton Rouge simultaneously if when LSU visits UT, the loser loses the chance to go to Atlanta?

As in, suppose Auburn and Florida lose JUST enough games to make the division races come down to the UT-LSU game. If LSU wins, Auburn stays home and we have a Florida/LSU matchup. If UT wins, Florida stays home and we have an Auburn/UT matchup.

That would be pretty wild. How is LSU's secondary this year? Hopefully, UT will have some sort of running game by the time we play but I doubt it's going to be very strong. I imagine the Vols are going to have to air it out and hope for some good things on denfenseif they want to have a chance.

It's hard to say. Auburn had a very balanced attack against us, but they definitely relied on Irons, and I think it's safe to say that neither LSU nor UT have a running back capable of performing as well.

(God, what the hell happened to Justin Vincent after the 2003 NCG??? :furious3::dunno::censored::realmad::swoon3:)

I think, however, that your best bet is in the air. As good as Irons is, he only managed to get 60 some-odd yards on us. Cox is a smart qb. He didn't throw much in the second half, but when he did, he was almost always on target. I didn't have much respect for him going in, but I do now. However, I still think Russell has the edge on him.

Even after losing to Auburn, I have to give kudos to our defense. We played pretty damn good. It's not the defense's fault we lost.

Sorry, rather than answering your question effectively, I've relegated to qualifying our loss to auburn.:boredom:

understanable...but that was a great game, i think most would agree that the best two teams in the SEC played in that game...

frankly, after watching that game, i don't know what would work against either of those defenses....
