OP dont listen to idiots like these who cant count past 45 (hands, toes, and teeth). Joevol, this may sound like witchcraft to you, so get your holy water and go cry to your local shepherd tomorrow because you need to be told an overly simplified cartoon version of reality. Anyway, OP as far as what NEEDS to happen today for us to remain alive in the east it is pretty simple (to be fair to these douchebags, it is complicated as to all the ways we CAN reach the SEC championship game):
First, as of now:
Missouri 3-1
USC 5-2
UGA 3-2
UF 3-2
UT 1-3
UGA & UF play each other, if we knew the winner it would make things a bit more narrow but anyway, one will be 4-2 and the other 3-3 (both beat us)
so.... without going into the complicated scenarios that lead to us winning the east, all that HAS to happen today is that we beat Missouri to put them 3-2 and us at 2-3. To keep it simple, in all scenarios we either want to be in a head to head tie at 5-3 with Missouri or USC.
Because of how the tie breaker rules for more than two teams work, in some cases its advantageous for us to have UGA win today, in others UF. We will also need UF to beat USC or USC finishes 6-2 and we are out. So if UF beat UGA, we would need them to lose to Vandy or else they would finish 6-2. However, if UGA wins, it can get a bit more complicated as far as what we would need to happen down the road. Anyway, im going to try to keep it simple so just remember this. We want a three way tie breaker whittled down by the rules to where its UT and USC or Missouri in a head to head tie.
Also, the rules if you are interested:
SEC Divisional Tie-Breaker > SEC > NEWS
if you need help following a particular path just post it and ill be glad to do what i can. the most important thing is that we win out though.
