The Sec East is wide open. Nobody in the east is as good as OU. In two weeks we face UGA who relies heavily on the run game, and I think our run D is a strong point. Also. their secondary is terrible. I think we can pass on em pretty good. Florida doesn't seem to be that great and looks beatable. south Carolina, same as UGA, has a terrible secondary.
Then Mizzou and Kentucky will be tough matchups but we can compete and win. Vandy is vandy again.
Tonight our oline just couldn't stop OU's front 7. they can only get better, and I don't know of many front 7's better than that. I like the way we fought, and if two plays that didn't go our way went our way it could have been a 3 point game in the fourth quarter.
Of course we are disappointed, but things can only get betterdue to our youth. We just have to protect the QB. GO VOLS

Agreed. We had lots of oppurtunites to upset a top 5 team and failed to execute. We were never out of it till the pick 6. Take away the two endzone picks and it's 24-27

Who's the world beater in the east? We just played the toughest team on our schedule, and were a few breaks away. The fumble and two int go our way and it's a different ball game. Georgia doesn't look great, neither does sc. It is literally wide open. We could be anywhere from first to next to last.

With a few breaks we could win the east. Not likely, but very possible.

Our play calling is horrible at times. Passing game showed flashes of greatness when Worley wasn't running for his life.

Run game will suck until line improves and play calls get more creative.

I agree but the line actually opened a few holes and Hurd nearly got 100 yards rushing as a result! He is legit, just block a little dang it!! :banghead2:

KY played with attitude tonight.
GA is beatable with 9 in the box.
Mizzou is improving but we still haven't seen them play a quality opponent.
FL is still a question mark but I'm sure coming off a 3OT win and then going on the road will do them in next week. Bama rolls against tired Gators.
SC is good, better than first game but their pass defense is soft and we can exploit that. Just how good is aTm this year?
Vandy is abysmal and they are going to win maybe two more games (Old Dominion and some community college).
TN was exposed on the Oline but we can fix that. Our defense really held up considering how tired and frustrated they were. Take away 3-4 blown plays on D and wow we could have nearly shut them down tonight. Oline was really bad in overmatched situation. But they did get much better in last 20 minutes of game and started run blocking (I'm sure there was some substituting by ok but they still looked a lot better).

Bottom line: We can Win the SEC East! ...or we could end up a 5th place team. But I think we compete and finish in top 3.

Also, that bowl game will be tough with Ole Miss looking good, UK improving, USCe back from the dead and Mizzou/FL hard to figure out.

The east is wide open, but it's gonna be awfully tough for us to really be a contender if we can't find a solution to the problem at right tackle. I never bad mouth a player, and won't start tonight, but we got to somehow address the right tackle position. I know Blair hasn't lived up to the billing thus far, and is a left tackle on the depth chart, but I can't help but wonder about possibly giving him a shot on the right side of the line. Maybe not the answer, but we gotta try something. I think Thomas will be a good player in the future, but its obvious he is not ready as a true freshman. I felt really bad for the kid tonight, and even worse for Worley. Gained a lot of respect for Justin tonight, and feel fairly good about him leading us on offense.

It shows how well our team fought tonight by mostly positive comments on here. We have the right guy at the helm. Other than one position group, I think we are almost there.

I thought about moving Robertson out there but he made 3-4 blocking mistakes tonight at RG, resulting in at least one sack.

Just brainstorming, I was thinking about Wiesman at Center and Crowder at RT...or Jackson.

Coleman Thomas looked lost tonight but honestly could you pick a worse guy to have your first start against?

Also what do you think about a Jumbo package with 2 TEs and passing out of that? That might have helped tonight.

No one. None of the teams in the East at this point look great/like worldbeaters

UGA had two weeks to prepare for USCe and blew it.

Spurrier > Richt...except in recruiting.

If we can put 9 in the box and beat UGA, then the dawgs are in bad shape on the SECe tie breaker.

I didn't say anything about that.

I said no one in the East looks like they're great or worldbeaters.

Everyone has at least one issue they need to overcome.

USCe: Pass defense
UGA: Passing game
TN: Oline woes, return game
Vandy: Entire offense on milk cartons
Mizzou/FL/UK: No proven opponents yet! (only FL plays quality opponent in Bama next week). UK plays Vandy and Mizzou plays IN.

Fixing the OL will take a while. It's going to be a long process. Agree on other things
