the will to win by using any and all conventional means is important. When you go into a conflict with one hand tied behind your back by political correctness, you're just setting yourself up for failure.

We, as Americans need a crash course on Empire building. if we are going to purposely invade other countries, we must be prepared to do what it takes to effectively control the natives. We have not ben effective at that in Iraq, and we are even less so in Afghanistan.

You are not going to win "hearts and minds"once you've basically thrown a country into chaos. As much as or publicity machine would like to show Iraqis waving American flags, it just has'nt happened.

Honestly, we don't have the stomach for empire building anymore. Take IUD's, for instance, the bane of the ground forces in Iraq. The proper response to one of these militant devices killing an American soldier would be to take out everything living in two square blocks. Harsh, I know, and some on here will cry foul, but, after doing that a couple of times, these attacks would stop.

Basic empire building, as old as time, but not very PC, as they say.

Remember, too, that none of you are crying foul over the fiebombing of Dresden, or the nukes dropped on Japan. After all, isn't that the last war we won?
