Look what Saban has done to the SEC. He's sucked all the talent away from other SEC schools. And in an effort to be as "great as Bama" we've set up an environment where if you're an SEC traditional power and your coach isn't winning 10 games by year 4, he's on the "hot seat", thus "scaring away" good coaches...so all we have left is Nick's disciples and MAC / AAC coaches. Tom Herman wanted no part of LSU. Only a good bowl season will redeem the SEC now.

My scoring system has ACC 2nd and PAC 3rd this year, but is otherwise identical to this article's places (B10 1st, SEC 4th, B12 5th).

We definitely took a hit this year, but it has nothing to do with Bama "stealing all the talent" or coaches being "scared away." There's far too much talent to go around for the former, and hasn't been enough time for massive coach turnover for the latter.

No, the SEC's poor standing this year probably has a lot more to do with a sense of entitlement in the conference, overconfidence that derives from an assumption that we're top dog and other P5 conference opponents will just wilt when they face us. Starting early in the season with LSU-Wisconsin, we found out painfully that they won't.

We were 6-8 in OOC Power 5 play this regular season. That's as bad as I remember us doing as a conference. Ever. We can redeem ourselves with good bowl performances, but for now, yeah. We're 4th best out of 5 major conferences.

Saban can only get 25 top players per season. Even if all 25 were 5 star payers (he only gets 3-5 of those guys per year) , that would still leave a dozen or so 5 stars and hundreds of 4 stars for the other SEC teams to go get. Hell, guys like Butch would also have his choice of 3 star diamonds in the rough to go get since Saban typically doesn't even know those guys are alive. So no, Nick hasn't " sucked all the talent away from the other SEC teams"
