SEC releases media predictions, All-SEC teams for 2022-23 men’s basketball season

Here’s the predicted order of finish:

1. Kentucky
2. Arkansas
3. Tennessee
4. Auburn
5. Alabama
6. Texas A&M
7. Florida
8. LSU
9. Ole Miss
10. Mississippi State
11. Missouri
12. Vanderbilt
13. Georgia
14. South Carolina

Along with Tshiebwe on the All-SEC First Team are Nick Smith Jr. (Arkansas), Colin Castleton (Florida), Sahvir Wheeler (Kentucky), and Santiago Vescovi (Tennessee). All-SEC Second Team selections include Brandon Miller (Alabama), Jahvon Quinerly (Alabama), KJ Williams (LSU), Josiah-Jordan James (Tennessee), and Zakai Zeigler (Tennessee).

I see 5 good to very good teams in the SEC, 1 team that should be pretty good (A&M). And a bunch of mediocre to bad teams. Florida and LSU are talented still, but both have new coaches. I could see Mississippi state or Vandy maybe being decent.
The problem to me is with the portal it’s hard to keep track of the roster changes in the league. Hard to tell who’s going to be good when you’re not sure who plays there.

I'd put Arkansas first, us 2nd, and UK 3rd.

Arkansas has the potential to be scary. They have 3 potential lottery picks. I'm really glad that we have them at home this year, but having to face them and then Auburn as our last two reg season games is kind of brutal.

I have ...
Ark - TN - Ky ... in a virtual tie (The is not enough to distinguish them, a good night, a bad night, an injured player could be the difference between 1 and 3)
Team Talent:
Ky
Tn
Ark
Coaching prowess:
Ark
Ky
Tn
Team Mesh:
Tn
Ark
Ky

Ala and Aub in the 4th/5th slot.

The issue for Arkansas is going to be shooting, kinda like it was last year. A lot more size and length on this year's team but reminiscent of some of those Kentucky freshman-led teams where they're oozing with athletic potential but a bit raw and haven't developed an all-around game just yet.

UK is clearly above us if we're being honest.

There are also some new coaches in the conference this season as well as Georgia, Florida and Louisiana State University and South Carolina will have new faces patrolling the sidelines.

Right ... You're a Tennessee fan advocating for Kentucky in multiple forums across 2 sports. All Tennessee fans do that. How silly of me.
It’s hilarious that kind of troll is still around. Too scared to just come out and talk trash if that’s what he wants to do.

I hope we can recreate that mentality and talent we had with Grant, Bone, and Admiral. I just don't see it. Barnes has never shown he can get it done at the highest level. He's a regular season HOF coach that regularly falls asleep in the post season.

Wow - I’ve never heard this take before? That’s some remarkable insight into March Madness - coach has to stay awake!

Seeing as to how he has only made it out of the second round of the tournament 6 times since 1998, in pretty sure he has a long record of sleeping through the postseason.

Name the coaches that have gone 2-1 or better 6x or more in the last 25 NCAATs. Then do it minus the blue bloods.

Minus the blue bloods? What are you talking about? Name a coach who has recruited better and done less with it. He did the same thing at Texas, and they told us when we hired him to get ready to never live up to the expectations. He's an elite recruiter and an above average coach. That's it.
