SEC Nation will be in Columbia for Gamecocks-Tennessee Saturday
Nov. 13, 2022

South Carolina’s matchup with No. 5 Tennessee next week, “SEC Nation” is coming to Columbia, the conference announced Sunday morning. The “Marty & McGee” Show will air at 9 a.m., with the two-hour “SEC Nation” show to follow starting at 10 a.m. A location hasn’t been announced yet. Last year, the show aired from The Horseshoe on USC’s campus. It also has taken place at Gamecock Park, which resides beside Williams-Brice Stadium.

This is the first time this season the SEC Network has taken its show to Columbia. The show most recently came to town for the Gamecocks’ matchup against Kentucky last September. The Gamecocks are coming off a disappointing loss to Florida 38-6. Tennessee bounced back in a big way after falling to No. 1 Georgia two weeks ago, beating Missouri 66-24.

Kick-off for the Gamecocks vs, Volunteers at 7 p.m. from Williams-Brice Stadium Saturday night. The game will be televised on ESPN.

For all the grief Stanky $ Co. cause the UT, they really want us back. They know an up Tennessee is a major revenue generator. They smelled that reality during the two times that even Lyle Allen had us in bowl games. They saw the viewership for Vols-Bama game, then again with the Ga-Tenn game. They want us back.

They are so desperate to have us back. Even that Paul dude wants us back. 😂

The conference slate is super weak this weekend. They probably wanted to go to Columbia, not sure how much, or even if they have been there this year.

Plus the media love for goofy Shane Beamer. Theyll interview him and get some amusing footage of his buffoonery. CSB makes up for lack of competence with lots of unearned exuberence.

Tennessee being "back" is our issue. Not the rest of the nation. It is up to us to be news worthy. And when we are, we will be getting plenty of coverage. Never understood those lame-brain narratives. Nobody hates UT. We have been awful on the field. We should not have been getting good press for being a bad team. The average adult is quite weak minded anymore. Really sad.

Well, I don't know what triggered you to say all that. I said the SEC (and I'm sure CFB in general) wants us back. For now, we are back so the media attention on us is ramping up. I'm seeing references and videos about our team, including our past exploits, on Youtube that wasn't really readily noticeable before. I see mention of us on TV, even news snippets and the like. All of which tells me, folks far and wide want us back. I've even seen a few samples of European and Korean mentioning us. Now, as for all the other stuff you said, I don't disagree, I just think it is irrelevant to what my post was about. Well, not wholly, we have been jerked around by SEC refs, had blatant offenses ignored by the SEC. Including where a Georgia OL-man intentionally and blatantly dived into the ankle of our DL-man. Butch's formal protest wasn't even responded unto. But again, my point was the SEC and others want us back. We're a big revenue generator when we're up, and they know it.
