I'm sitting here watching Alabama-Kentucky before heading to Knoxville for the UT game and I can't believe the poor quality of the SEC Network. Why does Raycom and the ACC have full HD and the SEC network look like it always have. Very disappointing, when they announced the network I was excited, but nothing has changed. Same announcers, same network, and the feed is not HD. Is everyone experiencing the same thing I am? Here in Chattanooga the games are on Fox 61 and it is horrible picture quality and not full HD.

Yeah it blows. Poor quality, the sound does not come through unless i crank it to sonic level which makes a commercial sound like a 747 in the room.

I'm in Blount County (Charter) and with the exception of the UT/WKU game they've all been in HD at my house. Probably 720p but still HD. Last week's LSU/MSU game looked almost as good as the primetime ESPN game.

Edit: I'm not at my house with HD right now, maybe this week's game is jacked or something. I haven't got to see it.

It looks great on my tv but it doesn't have great sound quality. HD is better than Raycom by far.

Did anybody else here the guys talking before the game about Ga. Tech and Miss St. and they referred to Miss St. about 3 times as Miami?

I just e-mailed Fox61 WDSI-TV here in Chattanooga about this issue. Hopefully they will enlighten me as to why they don't have the game in HD. It's probably that they are too cheap to invest in the necessary equipment to transmit HD off of the Fox national feed.

By the way, I've started watching the game on ESPN360.com, that's how terrible the picture is in Chattanooga. I made sure that I included that in my e-mail.

Horrible quality. Very pixellated, like I'm watching a crappy streaming video.

That's the way it is in Chattanooga. They must be really proud of it because they got FOX61 plastered all over the picture.

Here in Knoxville, the picture quality for SECNet. is a lot damn better than Raycom/J-P Sports. That's just me though.

I'm sure it would be in Chattanooga too if they would get the HD feed. The SEC Network uses the same HD cameras that are used on the ESPN broadcasts, and ESPNHD is awesome.

HD depends on the local carrier in your area, if I am correct, I am in Greensboro, NC and the local carrier is WCWG or whatever it is called, and it is standard def. only, and the audio is horrible!! but still MUCH BETTER than watching the local ACC game of the week, nothing is worse than watching Duke play Maryland, or some other busted ACC Raycom game of the week!!! I'll take SEC any way I can get it.

Fox 61 has never ever had HD. Not for NFL, not for the Super Bowl, not for the Daytona 500, not for F1. I'd be ecstatic if you could find out why cause it pisses me off.

And Matt Stinchcomb needs to go be a HS football coach or something, because the guy is a terrible analyst, and he's sooooo biased.

I could tell you why. They're too cheap. It's the same reason that CBS didn't air but a few NFL games a week in HD until a few years ago.
