SEC officials blow another call

This is getting bad. Illinois QB scrambled for a 4th and 17 with 2 mins left to keep game alive, dove to the marker and got it. Ref on field spotted it embarrassingly short. Review.. Call stands.

It's spotted where the ball crosses over the sideline not where he lands. That he lands pretty much on the line to gain clearly out of bounds indicates the ball was short when it crossed over into the white paint.

The ref marked it over a yard short, more like a yard and a half. If you argue after watching the video I can't help you. He probably was technically short but the ref was at least 3 Feet off the mark.
