Do y'all think in the future with further expansion the SEC East and West could split into different conferences? I could see the SEC East adding Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech and the SEC West adding TCU and Oklahoma State.
The SEC East could still call itself the Southeastern Conference and the SEC West could call itself the Midsouth Conference.

Future Southeastern Conference:

Florida
Georgia
Georgia Tech
South Carolina
Tennessee
Kentucky
Vanderbilt
Virginia Tech
Missouri

Future Midsouth Conference:

Alabama
Auburn
Ole Miss
Mississippi State
LSU
Arkansas
Oklahoma State
Texas A&M
Texas Christian

I don't think they would add 4 more teams. Maybe 2 at the most forcing other conferences to add some teams. I could see 4 "power" conferences forming with 16 teams

A 16 team conference would be like the old Southern Conference before the SEC was formed.

Yeah 4 major conferences will happen first before that scenario. In fact I'm kind of counting on that to happen thus the playoff will seriously be win your conference and you are in. The bowl tie in change that happened over this year, kind of makes me think of this scenario playing out as well. (Conference dictating who goes where kind of thing)

If the SEC did split in the future like my in my scenario would you want Tennessee to keep playing Alabama?

No offense, but there is no value in adding Georgia Tech. The same could be said for Clemson or FSU. Atlanta is already an SEC town, this would not expand the SEC footprint, which is what expansion is all about. Virginia Tech, UVA, UNC, NC State, Duke would all be looked at before teams that are within the SEC borders. Okie State would be interesting, I'm not so sure A&M would be too thrilled with TCU joining the league. If I were them I would want the SEC monopoly in Texas.

I would get rid of a few teams and make the new SEC look like this.

Alabama
Auburn
Florida
Georgia
Kentucky
LSU
Mississippi
Mississippi State
Tennessee
Vanderbilt

Yeah the 1991 SEC. In that setup Tennessee and the other teams could play 6 conference games.
