SEC Player of the Year

it will likely be davis. lofton chose a bad day to be quiet. this is, of course, unless lofton averages 30 over the next two and we win, while lsu goes 1-1 over the next two and big baby is quiet.

what were his stats?
28, 12, 1. Also had a steal, a block, and altered a bunch of shots. As good a game as I've seen a post player play this year.

Hard to see South Carolina and Mississippi State slowing Davis down.

its at south carolina and ive seen crazier things happen there. maybe balkman goes off and davis gets in foul trouble. miss state likely wont do much, but he may get in foul trouble there as well.

Lofton wont get it because hes a sophomore and has two more to win it. Davis is the better player right now.

That guy looked solid today. I wish we had someone like that playing post for us. For such a big guy, he's a great all around player. He even knocked down a 3 today.

him and thomas are, hopefully, what we are getting in chism and crews. except that crews is a little shorter than thomas and chism isnt as near as heavy as davis

Thomas is as good a pure athlete as there is at his position in the country. The pro scouts absolutely love him.

yeah, and thats what we are getting in crews. crews is called a freak of nature. the experts say he is as explosive a player as u will find in the nation.

Have only seen Crews live once. Didn't really get a chance to showcase his athleticism. I did see Thomas up close in a Las Vegas Tournament around Christmas. He's the truth.

Davis is about the most graceful big man in the country... the touch he can put on shots, and he can move around pretty well too. Really good player.

FYI, his nickname used to be big baby. The guy is honkin' huge.

a few corrections.

davis got 28 and 15 yesterday

lsu has already swept MSU. finish with Ole Miss at home.

from what ive read, pro scouts dont love davis. while he has great offensive post skills, he often has problems with taller post players. in the nba he will always be going against a much taller man. sorry, odds are he'll be around two more seasons. tyrus thomas is another story.

Nobody said the pro scouts love Davis.

Gumbo, are the LSU fans OK with Coach Brady now? Last year, I constantly heard and read that the LSU faithful weren't content with him.

gumborue, if you go look in the sec underclassman thread you will see why most pro scouts arent in love with davis and most dont expect him to be any thing more than an average at best player in the nba

Hatvol

A lot of the Brady haters have quieted somewhat since mid season. There are still a few here and there but winning pretty much puts a sock in it. If we go 1 and out in the NCAA tourney though look for them to come back full force.

As for Davis...he struggled midseason with the double and triple teams to a point to where he was making bad decisions and forcing his shots. Didn't help that he was getting mauled under the goal and getting more than his fair share of "no-calls". He seems to have settled a bit and I think that is because he spends alot of time outside (see the tre' he made against Bama) and goes inside when things have settled. I think it made him relax and get back into his rythym the last few games.
